I have searched on the forum, youtube, WWW, etc.

I want to start the form 4/purchase & Wanted to know your opinions:

Looking for a dedicated 9mm suppressor for the M-11. I am between the following, Price isn't an issue. I will be using the Max-11

Bowers CAC-9

Gemtech MK-9K

Osprey 9mm

In time I will buy a dedicated one for the Max-22 kit, but since that is a long wait I'mm 9mm shopping now. If you think of another suppressor besides the above, feel free to add.

9Osprey is not rated for full auto, 45Osprey is ok on full auto for limited use (though only on 9mm).

That being said, I like my 45Osprey on my AMP11 :D But I bought it for my 45 pistols. If I were getting a dedicated can, I would not choose the Osprey.

I went with a Liberty Mystic, but most would say its not a high volume can. I like how it was user serviceable and full auto rated, and has a list of many calibers it can handle. Its compatible with gemtech's multimount adapter

You might consider the Thompson Machine SG. Sounds great, is able to be taken apart (and cleaned) by owner, and is very reasonable in price. WWW.ThompsonMachine.net

The Mystic makes the most sense to me, as well. I haven't started the process on mine yet. I'm waiting to make sure everything goes fine with the F4 on my M11 before I tie up anymore funds on something that requires gvt approval. However, I have read and read and READ and the Liberty Mystic is what I would get. Versatility is a big deal when u have to pay a stamp on each can.

unless you reload or have deep pockets, get something primarily for pistols because you won't use it much on the M11 anyway.

Only subsonic I found that runs in an M11 is 158gr Fiochi. I think there is another brand 158 gr that works well. Most 147 gr has flat nose and is a no go for M11s. Unfortunately you can only find 147gr for a decent price so I will end up rarely running 158gr in my m11.

I got an Octane. If I had to do it over again, I might just get a 45 pistol rated for full auto and use it.

The response to my question to Silencerco on the 9Osprey---
The Osprey is fully auto rated.

The only thing it is not ok when on full auto is barrels 6'' and under.
So feel free to give it some quick rounds!
get back at me with any questions or concerns.
Thanks

I'll echo what others have said about the Thompson SG. It's a great can....about the same blowback as not using a can, and it sounds great.

Or the Thompson machine Isis or Isis-2 could be worth researching. I have the Isis but havent had a chance to try it yet.

I do have a local guy who does all my reloading for me here in Florida. I was considering the Osprey 45 or 9 for it's versatility. As mentioned above the Max-11 has a 8" barrel so the osprey should be fine.

on the .22 suppressor I have it down to the SWR Spectre II, and the Silencerco Sparrow. (I have plenty of time and don't need to make that decision yet.)

As far as a 9mm suppressor for the max-11 it's still a toss up for me. looking for great sound, FA rated, not getting loose while firing, and able to be broken down by user.

...Such a tough decision to make!

I'm waiting on a stamp for a Coastal MIMS can. It's a large volume suppressor that apparently sounds very good from what I've heard (low blow back too due to size). From a cost standpoint, it's very economical which is good since it will be used soley on the max-11. Wish I could pass along some first hand experience with it though....

I've got a MK9K but if I did it all over again I'd go with a new SWR Octane-9HD. The MK9K is a big can. I'm still going to get an Octane-9HD. Great numbers, multiple mounts for different hosts and user serviceable. Won't have to put my adapter on my Max11/22 barrel then a .22 can, just can to the 9mm barrel. Much cleaner looking too.

I was worried about this same thing, but with the Liberty Mystic you can get a Gemtech 3 lug Adapter. I'm still waiting on my Mystic to clear it should be about another month before that clears, but my m11/9 should come up anytime know. The Mystic looks great and its Stainless, and if you actually wait Liberty suppressor video on the mystic there is a brief video of them shooting the Max11 and the Max11/22 w/the Mystic. I went with that can just cause I could use it on multiple host. It is kind of pricey, the Can and 2 mounts cost me about a grand.

For a one application, dedicated suppressor from the three you've listed, then it's hands down the MK-9K.

If you want complete versatility for many other guns and the ultimate in customer service after the sale, then the high volume CAC-9 is for you.

Sixteen available thread pitches, all interchangeable.
