Wow. For a second there, I thought Macaholic was back. What ever happened to him?

He got tired of everyone telling him to shut his trap. (He was a real broken-record for NOT modding your Mac. It got old.) He is still out there and checks the forums occasionally. Actually, you probably summoned him by using his name. :bequiet

I used a 16" upper on my M11/9 in the 90"s. It had a red dot site that used some kind of radioactive material that SWD/Cobray sold at the time. If anything it slightly increased ROF. Never had any trouble with it. It was just too long for me to shoot comfortably so I ended up settling on a 10" barreled upper with the adjustable front sight and a barrel extension screwed on over the barrel for a hand hold. Just as accurate as the 16 inch without the handling troubles. I also have a 6 inch upper with a K grip and a stock 6 inch upper when I use the Suppressor. My favorite is that 10 inch upper though.

I do remember. I posted before I got my M/11 that I had a Lage upper, and was looking to purchase a M/11. Got roasted by him.

I think my upper is about 10 inches. Anyway, uses a stock bolt, so it runs at full speed.

In the pre-MAX-11 days, I had a 10 inch barrel on my side-cocking upper with the OEM bolt. I never measured the rate of fire, but it was very fast. It also beat the rear seams in the lower sufficiently that I had to have them rewelded at one point. It is not a configuration I recommend but it was fun until the seams failed.

I never had a problem with my 10 inch upper. Mine was a top cocker though. The ROF in the video seems higher then my gun with the 10 inch top cocker.

Holy necrophilia!
A few months ago I PACT timed a full size, full auto, 9mm Uzi. The 16" barrel we used yielded a 100 RPM ROF increase over the standard 10" SMG barrel.
