Hello.

Ok. I have been an uzi talk member for sometime now and yet still have not grasped the concept fully of converting an uzi pistol into a full auto weapon. So I am asking if any of you nice nice people would explain the steps A - Z of Legally converting an uzi pistol to full auto. I know some stuff. But, not all. For example I have no idea what an an SBR Micro Uzi is. I think it is an converted uzi pistol. I do know you need to buy an uzi pistol first before you do anything, But I do not know what happins after that. Oh, and Please feel free to talk to me like a samll child as every little bit will help...lol

Thank you wonderful people.
:)

What you need to do is find something that is REGISTERED.

IF you already have an UZI Pistol, you may want to get a registered bolt but when you start shopping, you may find that a registered bolt is not much difference in price to a registered receiver (RR) and you may want to just get a RR UZI Pistol instead. Then sell your UZI Pistol to help offset the costs.

Note that the factory MICRO UZI was never offered in OPEN bolt they were all CLOSED bolt.
Just about 99% of the registered bolt out there are OPEN bolts.
Most are for a full size but some have but cut down for a MINI or MICRO.

I have a RR UZI Pistol/Micro. I have mine in both OPEN and CLOSED bolt but find it more reliable in OPEN bolt. I've had it for only a few months so I haven't had much time to really tinker with it.

There is also the Firepower Publications book on converting the UZI Pistol to FA using a different closed bolt method utilizing a secondary sear. My receiver was modified for that conversion and I plan on doing that configuration as well.

BTW, SBR = Short Barrelled Rifle, NOT full auto.

Since 1986 an individual cannot legally convert any guns to full auto. That being said, you can buy a bolt that is registered as a full auto and install it into your semi auto and have a full auto.

As it was stated before you may find that a registered bolt may cost about the same or close to the price of a registered gun. I have seen a couple registered full size bolts going for about $3500.

If you wanted to put one in a micro (pistol) you could machine a full size bolt down to fit. As long as you didn't erase the serial numbers. Plus the price of a pistol, you could be looking at or above $5k

You could also try to find a registered micro bolt, but I think they seem to be quite rare.

Got anymore questions fire away. We are always glad to help.

Check here on Vectors site:

Click on Uzi, and page down, they have a SBR Mini and a post ban mini. Just remember with a SBR it will have to go thru a deal in your state, you will have to pay the $200 tax and the dealer fees. It still is a semi auto too.

The post ban looks pretty funky with the barrel.

Brian Ski,

I think in both of your posts, you are confusing a MICRO UZI with a MINI UZI!!

Also there is no such thing as a factory LONG UZI Pistol barrel so that you can put a shoulder stock on one.

Remember the UZI Pistols do NOT have stocks. The MINI's and the FULL size UZI's have the stocks.
