Lage's website indicates that Texas Leatherwood Macs may require fitting due to variances in manufacturing and post manufacture welding.

I'm looking to put a Lage MK2 on a Stephenville, TX M10A1A; it has a Cobray stamp and does not have the garand type safety.

Anyone in the group have experience with this combination? Any fit or function issues? I already spoke with Jackie Lage and she's looking into this...

As indicated, it will work but may require slight fitting of the upper to the lower.

If you've already contacted Lage Mfg, then they are already working on getting you taken care of and no further action is required.

I had a max 10/9 mk 2 on my M10a1a(SWD finished M10a1) and fit did fit it but when it was brand new, the upper took two people to get the takedown pin through. One to squeeze the upper and lower together and one to lightly tap the pin through with a hammer. But the only problem was really that the takedown hole re-enforcement tab was welded in crooked so a corner of the tab was hitting the upper before it was fully seated. Once a ran a few mags through the upper, it wore in and fit nicely.

I had a feed ramp issue and after figuring that out, voila!

That is an SWD gun so it's likely to be just fine as is. Fit issues are really bc m10s aren't as standard as the m11/nines bc multiple companies made them. The mk2 is cnc exact and the bends on the m10 lower aren't always squared off. That's my issue. The hood as its bent over isn't fully square and the welds underneath are probably rounded off too much rather that zipped and squared.

Remember the original upper is bent steel folded over so there's a corresponding gap that didn't cause issues. (The external radius of the corner of the upper vs internal radius of the hood fold).

I just had to file perhaps 1/64 and angle the slots a bit.

Glad you got it going. I had a similar problem with my JAWS/Hatton M10 with the Lage Mk2 upper. A bit of work with a rotary file (applied very judiciously) and some hand filing fitted the two together. As LawBob pointed out to me in an earlier thread, the takedown pin fit gets easier after some shooting.

It did...and works great now.

Now that I have my mk 2 running I guess I should sell
My mk1. Hate to. It's real steel. Built like a Mac.

Mine is a swd completed m10/9a1. The Lage max10/9 mk2 upper fit great and runs great on my gun after tweaking mags.

Still waiting to hear back from Lage, but sounds like it's not a real issue with the fit, thanks for the diagram/instructions LawBob.
I'll let you know how it goes, once the mk2 is in my hands.

LawBob---in your video, what stock was that?
Any opinions on the FTF stock?

Lage side folder.

Note the mk2 charging handle interferes with full folding.

I'll look at FTf on computer later.

Hey law bob I have a mk1 for my Uzi conversion do you think the mk2 is worth upgrading too?

It's a lot lighter. All steel was about 11 lbs w stock. Now it's a more reasonable 9-1/2. My weights are from memory and I have CRS disease lately.

A typical AR 20" is about 8.5, m4 ar about 7.5 for reference. I think an m14 is like 11.

Markmonkey; Richard Lage is at the match in Knob Creek, Kentucky. He probably won't return to the office until next Tuesday.
