I've been using the M27 & M13 Linker/unlinkers from Kendall Ordnance for a while now.

M27 links are used for HK23e, SAW/Minimi, and Shrike.
M27 links are pretty easy to link by hand and you probably don't really
need a linker for them. You can link ~1000 by hand per hour
while watching TV. However, having a linker makes it go a lot faster
and it is much easier on your fingers. Unlinking is MUCH MUCH faster
with the tool - at least 10x faster.

M13 links are used in HK21e, M240/Mag58, M60, and the Minigun(M134).
M13 links require A LOT more effort to link/unlink.
They can still be done by hand, but it def helps to have a linker.

These linkers are very solid & work great for both linking/unlinking.

Unlinking is performed by simply moving the pusher bar forward into the
unlinking notch. The pusher plate then pushes the rounds through the links.

The tool is super useful when swapping out tracer rounds from belt.
Simply unlink, swap the specific rounds out, move the linking bar to the link position, and then relink...
