I've got a 40 round magazine that I acquired through some "horse trading". It's a grease gun magazine without any obviously noticeable stamps on it. It appears that somewhere along the lines someone grinded the feed lips down and now it won't even keep the ammunition inside it. Does anyone have a good use or idea for it? I don't see trying to fix the feedlips as a worthwhile money/time investment. The best I could come up with is: chop it down, make a lid, and carry spare parts/tools while I'm using my MAX10/31. :confused:confused

If you have access to a welder, you can build up the feed ramps and recut them to spec.
If you have a good one,or a spec sheet, it shouldn't take more than an hour. If you're good with the tools, more like 15 minutes.

It's a good winter project.

Anything you do with it is going to burn up as much time as welding the ground feed lips back up. Unless you chuck it, that is.

I've fixed, modified and built a lot of things over the years. One thing has stayed consistent: I'm not the worlds greatest welder.
To my luck I've got a pair of Cobray stamped 40s, a handful of 30s Ive been using, and a box of unopened 30s still in wrappers. I don't see it getting fixed by me.
I do like the idea of swapping it off
