It would be a very good idea to leave the gun alone. You are only going to screw up a perfectly good Mac with those adolescent after market gadgets.

Yeah, and your listening. Now, if you could only get beyond the denial and get the message.

Whoever said one can't polish a turd has obviously never examined the Lage systems. Sorry mac, to my astonishment, the turd has been polished.

I think this is what Richard uses:

Richard, you are the shit; no pun intended. I can't wait until my number is 0.

Well, when your number finally comes to zero and you leap into the abyss feet first, that's when all the fun of constantly monkeying around, trying to find the one brand of ammo that will function reliably, clipping recoil springs, bending your feed ramp, and a whole host of other issues start, and never stop. And then you can post all of it on this site for all to read. So have fun polishing your turd friend!

Sonics is old old old style more of a collectors piece, bowers is better
The Bowers can is about the same as the original two stage Sionics. I have both, and neither one is noticably more quiet than the other. The Bowers can is simply a series of baffels, where the Sionics is assembled in two stages. The first stage is filled with shoe string eyelets and the second stage consits of two spirals, with an encapsulator and end cap. It's alway's nice to have variety though, If you like the feel or design of one can over the other, than I would use that particular can. My message is that I don't believe one can is better than the other based on my own personal experience. By the way, that's a very nice Mac-10 with the original suppressor. However, I'm not sure you fully appreciate the historical significance or collectability of these highly prized Ingram SMG's. The Powder Springs Mac's are the most coveted of all Mac's and should not be molested in any way shape or form. Unlike many readers on this site, there are those who actually know the difference, and would not even consider the bastardization of such a highly prized weapon.

Women are made to put up high on a pedalstool. Guns on the other hand are made to shoot.

If you buy it and want to shoot it, blast away. It's not like it belonged to Billy the Kid or Wyatt Earp. I can almost understand why you wouldn't want to shoot one of theirs on a regular occasion, but if I owned either, I'd still shoot it at least once just to say I did. ;)

What ever gave you the idea that I was not a shooter MPA? Read some more of my post's. I shoot at least once a month in our state subgun matches here in Florida. I have run every one of my Mac's in these matches and the one I have shot the most, is one of my two Daniels model-11 9mm's. I am simply trying to educate this new member on how valuble a weapon he now has in his posession, since no one else on this site seems to be able to. Most likey, because most of them wouldn't know the difference to begin with, nor would they even give a damn. No insult intended, I'm merely stating what appears to be obvious.

I didn't say or imply that you weren't a shooter.

I'll also admit that i'm pretty new to the mac world, but I also fit into the category that collector value is all in the eye of the beholder.

I'll admit, it does look nice and has been taken good care of.

But my way of looking at it, resale value in Mac's are on the bottom end where machine guns are concerned, so I don't really see it being worth that much more than any other he could find if he does put it up and not shoot it.

At least not in our lifetimes.

I've never bought any of my guns for resale value I simply love them for what they are and appreciate the unique design of each particular weapon. In the case of the Mac, I feel compelled to educate the vast numbers novice shooter on this site as to how effective and accurate a weapon the Mac is in it's original form. I also put much emphasis on practice to develope ones trigger skills in order to be able to utilize the cyclic rate of the Mac. What disturbs me most, is the endless flow of tragicaly dangerous, bad advice, given to the novice shooter by certain individuals, pretending to know what they are talking about when they do not. That's why I give the advice I give concerning factory vs mechanicaly miffed. Furthermore, I am fully aware that my message is not a popular one, but hopefully it can save some poor soul from possible injury, or God forbid death, as the result of a randome runaway, due the bad advice I see given on a regular basis.

Why would you not shoot your Mac? Shoot it as much as you want, is that not why you bought it? I think you are missing the point. Simply put, the gun is fine right out of the box and is not the uncontrolable, inaccurate, hose dozer you've heard it was. Yes, the gun runs fast like it was designed to. Yes, the sights are simple, but they work. If I could give some advice, take the gun to the range and run about 500 rounds through it with the stock against your shoulder, looking through the sights in proper fasion. If you find it hard to produce doubles in burst fire mode, practice will make it easier, and in no time you will see just how easy it becomes. I also encourage the use of the selector for single shots. It's a fantastic little SMG the way Gordon Ingram designed it, and nothing is more fun to shoot especialy in 45 cal.

I know but unfortunately I'm spending my day at Chucky Cheese.:hung

It's my daughters 8th birthday.
