is this the best model in term of :
1. finding later replacement parts (barrel/bolt/selector/etc)?
2. adding 22 and 45 caliber conversion kits?

what problem I may face with this model vs vector/GI?
it will be a shooter, not a collector item .

thanks for advise

You would not encounter any problems at all with that gun, except for the $10,000 premium you are going to pay for it being a collector item.

A Vector and that IMI gun would be functionally the same and use the same parts.

Vectors sometimes have minor dimensional errors and bad welds, but if the Vector in question runs good then it's GTG.

I have a Vector and once I had the welds redone it runs great, no complaints at all.

A real IMI original UZI is the only UZI best UZI IMHO, others are just copies with all kinds of noted issues etc. WOW asking $30K is insane but the world we live in smh. O if your serious of getting an UZI, the outstanding book "The UZI Submachine Gun" by David Gaboury is a total must have = will learn everything you ever wanted to know about the UZI, period. Good luck with whatever you choose!

This is all part of the New found fortune FFl’s are finding with Pre mays going transferable. This is and will blow up in time and many dealers will have to issue heavy refunds when they flip back to pre mays and or post sample. YMMV.

Id look for a converted IMI and have a good smith complete the conversion if not already done. You can have a better quality machined feed ramp installed along with endless finish options…

Only the Best and Dealer NFA are about the two most expensive places you can shop (other than Gunbroker Auctions). Read up and get educated on what to look for and starting watching ads on Sturmgewehr (bottom of page). There are also some good deals on Midwest Tactical’s Thursday emails.

Midwest tactical has better deals. I concur with the other comment, get a conversion registered receiver, I found one for a client for 15900 back in March. I can finish any conversion by opening the trunnion, swapping out to a machined feed ramp, etc and you’ll be into a better gun for 10k less. These newly flipped dealer samples are priced at a premium only because they are factory smg. They’re for the purist, not the shooter realistically. The stamped feed ramps are terrible

You’re going and are getting many opinions on the gun you asked about. It is an excellent gun. They ATF was forced to add some pre-May samples to the transferable list. This is one of those. It will cost more being a “factory” gun. If you want a shooter you can save some money buying a non-factory gun.

However an amnesty gun original factory gun pre-68 were selling for 36k. This gun should be comparable to those. The only difference being an import mark.
These gun will carry a premium for collectibility.
You will not go wrong In either scenario. Yes you could save money, but no it will not be a factory gun. People here want a factory original and people in the future will too. I have never lost money on any machine gun.

Buy what you want and enjoy the heck out of it!
And the stamped feed ramp isn’t crap. It works well for what it was designed for. NATO requires ball ammo only. That is what it was designed for.

There is an original factory (not a conversion) full-size UZI at Morphys auction. Online bidding has started. The current bid is at 8k on 11/10/24

I just picked up a Vector SMG from Midwest on an auction for a little over $16K about a month ago… They just were brokering the gun. They are very easy to deal with. It is inbound to them on a form 4, but to save some $$, I don’t mind waiting. It seems like standard in stock dealer guns are running $18-20 for a Vector. I had a Vector a while back, but had to sell it to put the kid through college. It ran perfectly.

Agreed. I purchased a converted IMI model A. I then sent it to UZI Smith John Andrewski to have him finish the full SMG spec conversion. This included a refinish paint over park, a welded and redrilled to proper size lower pin hole, "SMG UZI" stamp, and removal of barrel restrictor ring. I have owned both the Vector and IMI conversion and the IMI without a doubt is the better of the two. The IMI is the only one that's 100% in spec.

If someone buys one of these ex-pre-may samples and at some time down the road, the regs regarding these ex-samples, the new owner has no legs to stand on legally to expect a refund from the dealer he bought it from.
Because at the time of purchase, the gun was transferable and did transfer to the new owner on a form 4.
At that point, upon recpt of the stamp and physical transfer of the gun, the transaction is concluded (unless the dealer signs some kind of contract specifying that the gun shall remain transferable in perpetuity or he will offer a refund, which he would be stupid to do).

So I'd have to disagree with your statement. I do not believe any dealer will be offering any refunds once the form 4 has been approved.

These will not go back to pre-may status they were forced to correctly change them to transferable. They are now documented that they are transferable. The only real risk now is all machine gun being made transferable. I welcome it to get our rights back. I am still blown away with the court ruling. The guy that had 2 illegal guns was innocent since he didn’t make them to commit a crime. I know it’s a far fetched dream but wouldn’t it be nice to have the Hughes overturned.
