still needs a digital readout on the back of how many bullets are left just like in the video games....kinda has a profile of a Desert Eagle just a bit

Pretty cool, but the price point is about 33% off.
They would easily sell twice as many at $1,000
Price it at $899 and they wouldn't be able to keep up with demand, if HPA passes!

It's a cutie in a ugly way.
But I'd still buy one.

I too like the buck Rogers/Bladrunner look.

The hardest thing for me to get over would be not being able to move it around host to host.

Although my next kit gun I'm pretty sure is going to be a dedicated can just to hide the 16 inch barrel.

They made to gun to work in most holster and use glock sights and mags ..They are marketing it as more of a carry /HD gun .. Ie the quite and less kick of a silencer non of the fun of shooting over the top of a can or using big tall sights

I am happy they are doing this esp as the HPA looks likely ..This country is really lacking in non rimfire built in can handguns ...This is one of the first not one off home builts I have seen in a long time ..I am still hopeing b&t starts making there VP9 pistol here that would be cool ..Or someone bring the Wellrod back even for its faults

These kinds of guns have a future as inside home defense guns. No blinding flash and loud report - neither desirable in a dark room.

Agreed. I'd definitely buy one. In addition to home defense, police or security forces who work indoors would love this thing.

I would be up for one someday.
I just don't like to buy the first of any new model of guns. And that's from proven gun manufacturers.
Looks fun though!

Rated up to +P+ is the easy part.

Making it sound OK, that's a different story altogether. But physically shooting a +P+ is nothing to it and does nothing to convince me that is actually a "feature" or talking point.

I could see a lot of tactical teams lining up for some of these for some of their folks. I'd be interested in one for myself, but not at $1500. $1300, or whatever it was he said.

That's getting way up there. $1150 would be about the top of the mark of where I'd be.

That's $600 for the gun, and 550 for the integral portions.

I'd be interested in seeing how they look internally.

So you're saying the Maxim isn't worth more than a budget pistol and a clearance can? It's not like Silencerco is a major gun manufacturer with plenty of factory machines to re-tool for a new pistol, or that they're using parts from a junkyard to make the thing, that it only took a day of fiddling in the shop to make a working prototype, or that the ATF just blindly signed off on the whole idea. There's a lot more things going on with the maxim than just permanently welding a silencer to the end of a pistol, so to get it within a few hundred of a budget combo is really impressive.

Hell, there's nothing really special about a HK Mk23's construction or design, they just tweaked a few things here and there on a hundred year old design, used common materials, marked them up 50% when the HK logo was stamped on, and sold them in mass quantities to militaries around the world....yet, it still costs more than the MAP of the Maxim in used condition and doesn't come with a silencer. I guess people will always complain about price until they attempt to replicate it on their own.

That's what it's worth to me.

I don't really care if they make it out of snowflake tears and alien dna. That's about the top of what I'd pay for it.

The best part is that its pretty short for something as quiet as it is.

My Hi Power/Octane combo is probably 4-5 inches longer.

If silencers come off the NFA, I expect more than a few manufacturers will be making factory integrals before too long. Competition breeds lower prices. I'm sure a HiPoint integral will dominate the under $300 market!

Of course, once the HK models come out a lot of second mortgages will be taken out too...
