Hi gang!

This is Swampfox1951 and I represent Inetoutcomes, Inc., a Lawrence, Kansas based company with offices in Lawrence and Kansas City, Kansas.

We produce and market MAC-10 flats, MAC-10 and M11/9 submachinegun sideplates which fit the readily available weldpaks sold by several other companies on the net. These sideplates are perfectly legal to possess and can be used by SOTs to create dealer samples or for storing for future use by individuals should the law change however we do not possess or sell weld paks or center sections.

We also have a rapidly diminishing stock of MAC-10 cast bolt extractors. These extractors are extinct as there has been no production since the '70s. As far as we know this is the only remaining stock outside of a few held by the occasional gunsmith in parts bins.

We have a small supply pf M11/9 rear strap hangers which were produced by Cobray back in the '80s.

We are also currently offering full auto drilling fixtures or jigs for the MAC-10 and M-11/9 submachineguns.

I know what a 1919 side plate is but what is a side plate for a vent sheet metal Mac?

I think you may mean "bent" on "vent". I do typos like that all the time. The sideplates are for three piece; two sides and a center section style frame welded into a unit.

I will second that question. A 10 ton press is cheaper than a decent welder, so why would someone weld one instead of just press it, when one can still get factory oem flats?

OK, here we go in answer to your question:

(1)The second you bend a flat it is a firearm according to BATFE. What kind of firearm depends on where you put the holes in the side. Put the trigger in the open bolt location and you have an unregistered machine gun which can bring all sorts of joy to your life.

(2) A really good and accurate die set it expensive. I know there are guys out there selling those angle iron setups which leave you with a lot of "springback", in that the finished product doesn't have true 90 degree bends and requires some hammering or further bending to fix that up.

(3) With sideplates you don't have anything; sideplates alone are a legal nothing, just parts and you can use them at any time.

(4) Even if you don't have a welder there are welding shops aplenty out there and since assembly only requires a series of small spot welds the job wouldn't be very expensive.

(5) Anyone who fools with firearms is going to have a need for a welder sooner or later and by shopping around ya can find one for well under $200 that will handle this job and dozens of other

Our technical guy spent many years as an 07 with NFA and built of literally hundreds of MACs of various kinds and most of the info above come from him.

I dunno about the press thing. I make stuff needing way more.bend accuracy than a Mac using just a manual brake pretty regularly. Mac is only a few simple and easy bends. I'd be less trustful of a weld together. IMHO, easier to screw up that and have to cut apart than just bend it and touching up angles.


Lotta folks with a welder should also get a grinder to fix their welds with. I'm one of them which is why I don't have a welder. I have friends help me reweld stuff that I build.

"Easy bends". Yeah, right. Try getting true 90 degree bends with 12 gauge in a brake and hold the .005" tolerance required in the original blueprints.

The sight plate, stock plate, stock rail guide, magazine well and trigger guard all need to be welded even on a bent flat. There is also some required grinding to smooth out the welds on the back of the gun.

Exactly why I brought it up...needs to be welded no matter what is done. So bending vs welding the flat sides is almost a pointless debate because no matter what is done you need to get the welder out to complete the gun.
