I’ve got about 6 Lage uppers (not to mention some other Practical Solutions uppers or the Versas I’m on the list for), and I can’t figure out a good way to store the ones that aren’t on the guns at the time. I don’t have room in the safe to stand them up.

Has anyone found a nice solution?

Ideally, I want something that keeps them from getting beat up/rubbing on each other, doesn’t take up too much space, and allows them to be accessed relatively easily (i.e. I don’t want to stack them all in a box where it is hard to get to the bottom ones).

You need to buy lowers for each upper so that they have a place to live.

I have my orphaned uppers on a shelf in the safe when they aren't on the correct lower.

I don't have a file, but there's a 3d printed gizmo that mimics the shape of a lower and pins to the front hole. It keeps the bolt and pin from sliding away when in storage.

How sturdy is their stuff? OK for the metal parts?
If asking about plastic containers: for full box of ammo it will not work, too flimsy, but I have in one container: hk23ek, couple stocks and 4 or 5 barrels , I guess it close to 20 lbs, and have no problem to slide it out. Problem that I found with bottom container, if I stack 10 and all has a lot of metal, bottom ones will be hard to open, so I am trying to spread heavy stuff in the bottom containers

I use large plastic tubs from lowes and high quality bath towels, wrap the uppers carefully and include any neccessary parts (receiver pins, allen wrenches, etc.) in a ziplock baggie with each upper.
On the outside of the tube there is a strip of white duct tape listing whats inside.
I dont over pack each tub. Most only have 3 upper receivers or sets of parts.

This happened to my ar uppers and they enjoy having not to share a mate
