I have always heard they the org mp9 marked mags are the gold standard for old school mac 9mm and even the kg9 .

They seem to be really hard to find .

So I found a seller with org uncut mp9 marked and mac marked mags and ones cut for the kg9.. he is wanting a fair ammon a mag

So my question are they really worth going for it? And would it be crazy to pay 200ish a pop for em ? If org ? They have the org 4 cell black case with them as well

Thanks

It all depends on what you want them for?
Are you wanting to collect them and look at them, or use them in a gun and shoot them?
If you want to actually shoot them, they are a waste of money. There are super reliable M10/9 mags available and much more reasonably priced.
If you want to collect them...well the sky's the limit. Plenty of morons with money out there. I've seen them go from 125-300.
I'd never pay more than 100 bucks for one. I paid $50 for most of mine years ago when NOBODY wanted them.

Some on GB for 399.

Bunch sold on Sturm recently....they were 150 or 200.
Ad is not that old so its in the first few pages of parts/etc.

To me...werth nothing...

A good mag ...as we all know has gone up. 150 is not out of line and gladly paid for a Quality 50 rnd'r as a few of us did recently.
Last set of coffins I bought few days ago were 125 each and I got off cheap.

Times have changed. The good ole days are gone. Buy Now and buy lots.

No matter how good the currently available $60 RPB M10/9 mags are they are really subpar when compared to the converted mp9 Mac M10/9 mags.
I own plenty of both and the mp9 mags are like Cadillacs compared to the RPB mags being like a 15 year old beat up Prius. Yes they both will get you there, but one gets you there and you enjoyed the ride.
There is really no comparison.
If I could own only 1 mag if I chose the mp9 mag, or 15 of the RPB mags, I would choose the mp9 mag no questions asked.
They are expensive. They were always expensive. They are worth it.

Well you can buy some new ones, and you can buy those, try them out and decide what to keep. Assuming you've got the funds.

I personally prefer new magazines whenever possible, as you can go back to the manufacturer for issues, springs, etc. For me I don't own anything I'm not going to compete with which means they've got to drop free which means they're going to hit the deck. I don't want a magazine that I feel squeamish about dropping on the ground.

I bought a dozen of the RPB mags for my FA Tec-9. I have yet to have a single stoppage that was mag related. That's a LOT of rounds all in full auto bursts and dumps.
I save my Walther mags as collectibles now.

They are talking about the Walther MPK/MPL contract mags. MAC usually (not always) stamped their logo on the front side near the bottom.
Later George Kelgren capitalized on the fact that there was a large cache of them after RPB opted to have CMP make cheaper and lighter weight ones when they rolled out their semi pistols in 1979. He adapted them to his KG9 by milling a slot near the the top and spot welding a tab so they couldn't fit a MAC or a Walther gun.

As an aside, sadly, the newer "RPB" mags as sold by FTF, will NOT fit the KG9/KG99 magwell. So those owners are stuck with either the EXPENSIVE Walthers or the OEM Intratec mags. The OEM were fairly reliable, but hit or miss. I never found ANY of the many aftermarket offerings to work well. I was most disappointed in the Sherer as Tony made some first class mags when he wanted to. They are sturdy with witness holes but for some reason I never had any work that well.
Also, many don't know that the Walthers were 32 rds but the Intratec and aftermarkets were actually 36rd.

I've had a lot of the scherer mags go thru my hands over the years.
They are well made.
They just don't work from out of the box.
But. I've made all that I had work perfect.
Takes replacement of a few components.
The mag bodies are very well made.
Just that the other components do not match up properly to the mag bodies.

Oh yeah and to answer your original question.
Your a fool to pay 200. Even 100 for an m-10 9mm Magazine.
The Walther's are the best. But there are alternatives that are under 100 and are just as reliable and quality made.

I got a set like that off Numrich about 4 or 5 months before everybody and their grandmother started putting out MP5s and clones, now if you find them they want your first born.

I literally have buckets of m10 ,9mm Magazines that perform perfectly
And they are not walther manufactured.
But military manufactured and issued.
42 rounders.
And under a hundred bucks .
Actually under 80 bucks.

Personally, I thought the word "fool" was a poor choice of words and not good form. This is supposed to be a forum for adults and petty name calling should be beneath us.
If the poster doesn't apologize, I will apologize for them on behalf of the other members. Other than that, it was a most informative post. He obviously knows his magazines.
Now, to the OP... If I were you, if I didn't have a good stash of mags, I'd buy a BUNCH of the RPB mags. These are the "good old days". I will never forget the 94 ban and feeling lucky to pay ridiculous prices for everyday mags. These mags are a bit on the light/flimsy side, but they WORK and hold up. As I said, I was surprised. When I first got them I was not happy with the appearance and workmanship. Imagine my shock when I took them out and they ran. I immediately ordered a dozen more. They were sold out for months but I see they're back in stock now at FTF.
Also, a clarification from my above post reference capacity...the only 36rd mags are the OEM Intratec. Since Russell copied the Walther mags it makes sense they are 32rd. FTF advertises them as 30rd but they actually hold 33. I always load them to 32 and have yet to have a failure of any kind in my TEC-9. I would expect the same performance in a MAC.
