Finally got a price worked out, just got to get the cash to him and the paper work done. Supposedly only about 400 rounds through it since 85-86. Still got the box and only 1 mag so I assume his round count is fair. Any body got any tips for me besides buy mags and ammo.

I plan on a Max-11 upper
.22 upper when they come out
Maybe an AAC can unless yall can recomend a better option
Also I've shot a full size uzi FA and it seemed to jam on WWB 9mm.
I want to go ahead and start stashing some 9mm before it gets here. Is there a certian brand that is known not to run through macs. Don't want to stock up a few thousand rounds only to have it not function.

Thanks

Unless Mr. Lage has changed his test firing of all the Max-11 uppers, he said in the past that he does the test fire with WWB....that's good enough for me!!

If the gun is still in 100% stock form and you plan to shoot it without the Max-11 then a new buffer is a must! Get rid of the original stock for safety's sake (Max-11.com is your friend;) some recommend just putting Richard as your paycheck direct deposit ). I would consider stocking the ammo, a new buffer and a safe stock the top three priorities.......then there's the extended safety, grip (with or without the thumb mag release), Recon Ord steel mags----it's not just the guns that are expensive----it's the accessories and all the ammo they eat:silly

Thanks guys, where are all of the good sites to buy mac parts and accs. from? I assume Max-11. Any others to deal with or stay away from? That and I was wondering if the AAC can is any good. I know they make good products, but was wondering if the one for the mac is worth buying.

AAC doesn't make that one, it is made by Tom Bowers and is mac thread specific. Which makes it pretty uncool to put on the end of a max11. It is also old technology and not worth the stamp in my opinion, better than nothing though.

I use a SWR qd3k which is a 3 lug can. You can get a three lug adapter from Stoney Creek for the stock m11 and get a 3 lug barrel from Richard when you get the max11. Stoney Creek is the other big mac supply place that you should check out for stocks and maybe a drum upper sometime if it is your thing.

I got to give a high mark for Gemtech's Viper. Works and won't come loose. With the subsonic stuff, it's really neat.

It works. It's cheap (ok well it was much cheaper a few months ago but is still on the cheap side for ammo). So if you take it works + good price= good

WWB ammo is very dirty and at $14.87 per 100rnds is about the same as
S&B if you add tax into the equation.

WWB is a good medium grade non evasive ammo that is readily available.
That is until the Israeli plant that produces it closes down.

brass is the real issue. precious medals are getting bough up daily by the chinese
They most know something we don't?

I checked one of two cases of WWB I had just purchased when you first mentioned that some time back. Everything on the cardboard case and individual boxes says made in U.S.A. Where did you get that information from and can it be verified?

WWB, S&B, Wolf, Silver Bear, Brown Bear ... anything except that Hirtenberger +p+ surplus. My uzi loves it, but I hear its too hot for a M11/9.

You may want to hold off on the Lage upper until you shoot your M11/9. I like mine zippy. I've been holding off on one of these by telling myself that it'll turn my M11 into an uzi, which I already have. I don't know how long that "logic" will hold out, but its worked so far.

Thanks for the info. Finally got the paper work in last week, filled it all out and the check went out tues. to the atf. Hopefull this time next month I'll have it. I may hold off on a few things and put that money towards something else. I will probably at least end up with a can, .22 conversion when they are available, stock, extended mag release, ammo, ammo, ammo, and mags. How would a .40 cal conversion work on the m-11's, think it would beat on it any worse than the 9mm? I've got a good line on some .40 and would hate to waste it or pass it up.

For EVER it was under $10/100 rounds, and it's as reliable as anything can be.

I was 22 days (9 Mar - 31 Mar) from when my check was cashed till I was able to pick it up. It was an individual transfer on a form 4 (no dealer fee's).

Finally got it in this morning. Hell the guy told me he may have fired 200 rounds through it. Looks brand new. I got to fire a few mags through it and it ran pretty good. Had 2 mags start to fall out and jammed the gun, it might have been the way I was holding it. I grabbed the strap with my left hand and wrapped my thumb around my other hand. That and it stove piped once, don't know why. It's actually more controlable then I was expecting fairly accurate. In all I'm real happy.
