Homemade Uzi Firing Pin Not Hitting Primer

Hello everyone,

I bought an smg uzi parts kit and started assembling it before I really knew what I was doing. I bought the Mckay semi auto bolt assembly and everything else I needed to be legal and got it all put together. I go to fire it today and everything works how it supposed to but, the round doesn't go off. I take a look at the bullet and the firing pin had an offset strike and hit the primer on the very top edge. I tried it a couple more times and go the same result. So my question is, what is the easiest way to get the firing pin to hit the primer and make the round go off? I'm afraid that I will have to cut the front trunnion and reweld it back to where the barrel is lined up but I figured I would ask the experts first before I went through with that.

sounds like a severe alignment issue go to the Uzitalk library and read up on the build tutorial

did you weld the trunion in yourself?

I had a mini that had the pin striking too low. It took an expert gunsmith to fix that one.

Yeah I did weld it myself. For some reason I thought I could just eyeball it and it didn't turn out to well. I will also go look in the library and see if I can figure anything out there.

Don't know if it matters but you didin't put a Century UC9 firing pin by chance did you?
