HK sights

Is there any company currently installing HK style sights on MAC uppers? I'm tired of the factory sights and they are a little low with the vz58 stock I use now.
I might just weld them on myself. Does anyone have any tricks or advise to get them aligned properly and to cut the front to the right height?
Thanks

It's a pretty straightforward weld on . I have them on two of mine . I needed to change the buttstock on them , those sights sit a little low . I went with a Choate MP5 sidefolder on one and one of ours [with the angle set to fit] on the other .

RTG has the picatinny mounted HK sights for $129. For $45 (under the AK section) he's got some HK sights that you could just weld directly to the upper.

I would grind off the front sight ears leaving the base and add a strip of steel in the back to even out the elevation. I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

We will probably offer it for the side cocking uppers as an upgrade/option. I have a few of the figure 8 front sights and the rear drum HK sights. Lower loop on the front has to be cut and configured to be welded in place. Both have to be welded in place after coating the upper. Our Mac-10 side cocking uppers are being assembled this week as well.

Have you install any of these sights on uppers already... have any pictures to post of them?

we have installed a few of them in the past, none on one of our newer uppers. I will post a photo of the new uppers with them soon.

You might think about offering them on the standard uppers as well. Here's an Autowerkes upper on the M10 I used to have.

I've also got an Autowerkes upper for my M11/9. The sights were offered in "standard" and "high". Although, the high sights still sit too low to be able to use very well with an M16 stock. You might check a few of the more common stocks and set the height accordingly when you do yours.

Note where my eye is, compared to where the sights are. The Eotech is about the right height. Of course, by the time you get that high up, the sights might look pretty goofy.

I had one of Erik Nolan's, Auto Werkes, M11/9 uppers with the high rise H&K sights. Sight picture was about perfect with an ACE skeleton side folder. Wouldn't have worked with the standard set up you owned.

It only took an hour to modify, align and weld the sights and it fits with the stock I wanted
