Help me decide on my next MG...
I am going to be buying my next MG in the next two months but I need some help deciding...

These are the firearms I'm considering:

1. AC556 13" folder
2. M2 Carbine trigger pack
3. Registered bolt Uzi 9mm (don't give a crap about .22 or .45)
4. Smith and Wesson 76 or MK 760

If things work out, I will be selling a Jap 99 to finance all or part of the purchase but I do have the necessary $$$ to buy outright if I have to.

Suggestions?
Criticisms?

Well it depends on what you will do with it. For controlability probably Uzi or SW76 and to shoot in a match. For fun and show, the AC556 (probably some good fire at night) or M1 Carbine. I personally have shot the Uzi and it is a favorite.

M11. You get 9mm, 5.56, and .22 options. Fast fire, slow fire, 72 rd drums 50 rd magazines and the list goes on.

I have had 3 out of those 4 and recommend the SW from the list. However, a Mac 11 9mm would be better than any of them.

I have one and two.
Personally, I prefer them over the other two that’s listed (maybe with the exception of the S&W 76, not Mk760).

I’ve even tried to buy three and four on your list. At the end of the day, it’s up to you. However, everyone I’ve known that had/has an MK760 had problems or tried to talk me out of buying one (not the S&W76).

1. Ac-556k, works great, can shoot 22lr and has a lot of stock options. Also, it’s one of the most esthetically pleasing guns I own.
2. M2 carbine trigger pack, I would recommend a registered trigger housing, it’ll last forever. Some of the smaller registered parts could have problems. Move from host to host. Ammo is expensive and not the easiest to reload.
3. Uzi bolt gun, it is what is. Should work good but kinda bland in my opinion but cheap to feed.
4. S&W76, really cool gun, works good and cheap to feed. MK760, ain’t the best.

Here’s mine.

we have all those. Out of those listed, 76 or UZI. Edge to the UZI based of parts availability.

IMO, I would just say get a Mac of your choice.

Ac556k looks cool and have the 3 round burst option too (the vast majority of mini-14 parts work in an ac556), the M2 pack would be really neat too (ain’t cheap to shoot), Uzi I would get a RR over a bolt gun any day (spend the few extra grand), s&w76s are good to go but the clone of a clone is a POS (mk76).

If I had to pick from your list I would go with the Ac556K or S&w76 (both are a tie I’m my book) and then probably the M2 trigger back. I would buy a bolt Uzi but it better be on the cheap (prices I’ve seen as of late, they ain’t but nothing is). I would also pass on the mk760 unless it was a good price.

Good luck and get a mac.

If you don’t own a Lage’d MAC, I’d go that route first.
Uzi next.

I'd do the UZI, M2 trigger pack, or S&W 76.

I keep looking @ the UZI but other then being ICONIC I really don't want one I've shot the mini and FS both in FA I have semi's of the UZI triangle.
Shot a M2 carbine
Had a 760

Even though I keep looking @ the UZI I'd buy a M2 if I were going to do it.

I'd agree thuogh with getting a Mac series gun.

I have a M10
22 flemming upper
OEM 45 upper
Lage 10/31 upper
Lage 10/15 upper

The MAC series guns have become the poor mans H&K sear or the poor mans DIAS

Friend just sold a stephensville MAC finished by SWD for 12.5 K with a LAGE 10/31 and it already had the 9mm grip magwell.

A lot of fast swap options for the MAC guns. from uppers to stocks to calibers.
M2/M1 isn't hard to load for straight walled case so no lube

The .30 carbine isn’t a straight walled case it’s tapered and can/will stretch. It needs to be trimmed or at least checked for length. You can have a round fire without the bolt lugs being locked, if the case is too long and have a bad day or worse.

UZI's will have the most part availability, not to mention they are easy to work on. You certainly will not destroy a registered bolt, but they can be finicky in their hosts, so don't expect it to necessarily be drop in ready unless it is coming with a host.

S&W 76 is a cool gun, but parts can be a bit expensive. They suppress very well. Go watch Omega Man with Charlton Heston; that might sway you on the SW-76.

M2's are extremely fun, but ammo is expensive and no longer plentiful. .30 Carbine is a straight wall cartridge and easy to reload, they key is getting the appropriate OAL.

AC556 will have many options and caliber conversions. Good Part availability.

There is also batch of warped Group bolts out there that are out of spec. You don't want to end up with one of those. I've also seen a bolt face break from a possible double charge. The guy it happened to fortunately did't have a registered bolt. I presume anything can be fixed though.

Uzi or MAC (M11a1 or M11)would be my choice. The Uzi is one of my constant "go to" range guns. It is also a great gun to run suppressed. I have 3 M11a1s, all in different configurations. All Nice tight compact setups! I've passed on picking up an M2 many times. One trick pony that is not cheap to shoot and has strong muzzle rise in full auto. I've also passed on a number of AC556s. Go for an M16/AR15 conversion instead of the AC556.

I have all 4 and the one that gets the most range time out of the 4 is the Uzi. I just like the iconic feel of the Uzi and its fun to shoot. M2 carbine magazines are a pain in the ass. Most of the modern mags I have tried are crap and won't feed. Original mags are expensive and hit or miss. The AC556 is fun to shoot but hard to control. One of my first rifles was a Mini-14 so I had to have an AC556 when I was older and had the funds. I was really disappointed in the S&W76. I carried S&W wheel guns back in the day so had to have the S&W SMG in the collection. I was expecting a piece of art and got a cheep knock of of a Swedish K. To me the S&W is just loose and sloppy. I have a stock adapter that is supposed to fix some of that, but I have not gotten around to trying it out.

Back before Lage Mfg was a thing, I would have gotten a 10. However, there are more options for the M11-Nine and the weight/ergonomics are better with an upgraded M11-Nine.
