I’ve done business with the seller in the past. He is a stand up guy and his guns are just as described. Last I knew he had two of these but it’s been a few years since we last spoke. At the time he was still an FFL/SOT

CC armory has the remaining bulk of the Keosayian collection and many of them were obviously (re)made for him, a Colt Executive, to have sexy serial numbers. Several have been listed by CC Armory the past few years. Since this one has correct A2 receiver and manufacturer markings my guess is it’s original. Whether having a particular serial number increases it’s value is a matter of speculation, both idle and financial.

ETA: well, the "minutes left" thing doesn't work with a damn on GB, it's said something random in the range of 6-14 minutes for going on 40 minutes each time I refresh on my phone.

But make that $48,051 for an A1 Carbine, NIB And Ruben's fees will be $1700 to gunbroker. Those GB guys lucked out in the competition with Armslist and GA, etc - they have a gold mine now.

I talked to Ruben last week and he said he has a bunch of backlog finally coming in stock over this next month.

When he had inventory to monitor sales rates, he usually was the first to break a given model say A1 or A2 into new price territory. I wonder if he has turned to GB auctions to serve as a barometer of what the market will bear since he has no inventory for months to keep tabs on movement at a given price point.

The general hierarchy is COLT A2, then colt m16/A1 factory MGs (also 614s), then conversions with maybe a small edge from Colt. Conversions are usually $5-7k below A1 Colts which are about $5-7k below A2 Colts, but obviously there is a bunch of variability.

My guess is this current boom will settle out at A2 $40k, A1 35k, and conversions 28-30k. But those are basically just nominal prices of what I have observed in the past month or so as things have started moving on GB. The recent prices have tended to conform to the hierarchy I listed though.

Somebody else may know if there is a black sheep among the conversions, or the contrary but I wouldn’t give any particular edge to Oly or PAWS, personally.

And honestly functionally it matters little, it’s just that the resale value of the guns follows the maker/markings that’s just how it goes.

One bidder with only one feedback on a $27k gun. I’m skeptical until feedback is posted.

I'm skeptical as well. IMHO, those GB auctions results are suspect.

However, I will say that Colt M16s haven't really seen huge appreciation over the last 10 years unlike (macs, uzis, m60s, m2, etc).
Maybe there is something to it...
