no real tricks just take your time. I like to put blue locktite on the chamber adapter set screw as it can loosen.
Also clean the 556 chamber after shooting 22lr. I once tried to chamber a 556 round after shooting 22 and removing the kit and the bolt barely locked ( the chamber was carboned up) witch could be dangerous.
hope this helps.

Well that was a pain in the butt - question, was your kit real rough to cycle, sometimes hanging unless you let it slam forward. The hold open doesnt work?

You can't pull the bolt all the way back, or else it will hang. I haven't shot mine in a while, but I don't think in bolt hold open works with the 22 kit installed.

In addition to not pulling the bolt all the way back, you have to be careful with mine when pulling the bolt back or the operating rod handle will fall off the bolt. IIRC the bolt is held open by the followers on my Black Dog magazines after the last round is fired.

Thanks guys, Just want to make sure I'm installed correctly - yeah, my operating rod does not seem real secure, kinda slanted on the bolt lug.

Just shot it, it wouldn't cock the hammer at first, but after a few rnds and working the bolt a bit it started chewing them up. I like it, too cool.

Glad you got it working! Mine doesn't function well with the metal Ciener mags I have, but works at about 98% with the Black Dog Magazines, and the cheap Federal Bulk Pack ammo. It's a lot of fun, and much cheaper than 5.56!
