Well, my receiver is a completely different serial number range than yours....

But, yes. The Aimpoint Comp M2-series and Comp M3-series will both work with it, as will clones and imitations.

Yeah, after a bit of research I discovered that we would have receivers manufactured by entirely different companies. Would it be too much to ask to see a picture of your sidemount dovetail on your GLN-prefix Golani? It may not tell me everything, but it could tell me a little bit.

Thanks Jagdraben!:)

I thought I had a couple, but it appears that I don't.

Next time I break out the camera, I'll try to remember to get some pictures.

My Golani has a loose/warped dust cover that made it impossible to use the rear sight accurately. I bought a UTG Tactical Quad Galil rail (Leapers UTG MNT-HGGL01) and installed it on my Golani. Before installation I removed the rear portion of the top rail that extends back past the bolt handle. I mounted a red dot scope as far farward as I could.

This setup puts quite a bit of weight forward, but I like the scout scope position for easy target acquisition, and also since I removed the back portion of the rail, I'm still able to actuate the bolt handle with my left hand.

I'm not looking to replace the handguard with a rail system, though it's purely for aesthetic reasons. Eventually I'm going to put wood furniture on my Golani. That's why I'm looking for a scope mount instead.

SadWhale, The first mount you have linked is for a specific optic- and its fairly expensive (scope). Take a look at PRI mounts. They make a mount that works fairly well and won't limit you to red dots only. My adive on the optics is that its really not worth the time, effort and money you'll sink into it.

That depends on the rifle's purpose.

If the rifle is for plinking, it's probably not worth it.

If the rifle is going to ride around in the cab of your pick-up truck, it can be worth it.

If the rifle is for personal defense, it's worth it. A little ways down the line from having a white light and/or functional night sights on your weapon, in terms of priorities, but still a good thing to have.

I "second" the PRI mount

The PRI mount with an extremely low set of rings provides an excellent platform. Stick with a low power fixed or variable and 24MM to 30MM objective. Then you can use the iron sight with the optic attached. The mount also places the optic 'well forward" on the rifle, so you may have to play with different scopes or mounting positions to get it to work for you. I can remove the dust cover/sight housing with a smaller scope in place thereby making it a somewhat permanent attachment (it is not a quick detach set-up anyway).
