Hey folks!

I've done lots of searching over the past couple days and there's not much information that's not a decade old. I have a Galil SAR and my dream is to install one of the "reverse" safeties in it. For push "forward to fire". I've seen some conflicting information. Some say you just need the "linkage" and other say you need the whole "kit", such as a different grip, nut, main safety lever, etc. So I'd appreciate some definitive advice from someone who knows.

The biggest thing is that, whatever I need. I need some direction as to where I can find it. So if anyone has the parts they're willing to sell, or knows where I can get them, that would be greatly appreciated!

It's horrible so little information on IMI Galil series of rifles and parts.... both semi and FA... a vast ocean of middle fingers is what I encountered- Good luck my friend in your quest.

The grip and grip screw are the same. Everything else is different. The pistol grip "nut" has a boss on top for the reversing linkage to pivot on. it takes the pin that a short reversing link attaches to. The right hand safety lever and the left hand lever are specific to this safety style. These "forward to fire" safeties were standard on IMI made semi autos, I don't know if they were ever used on the full autos. The hole in the receiver for the left hand lever may also be a different size for the different safety styles.

My FA parts kit SAR has the forward to safe, back to fire safety, not the one with linkage. I've never seen the one with linkage.

I've fabricated a few of these by welding a post on the grip screw nut and safety and then finish machining. The real pain was the linkage- if you don't get the hole position exactly right, it's either impossibly hard to rotate or completely unusable. I haven't seen any of these available in years, so I managed to get ahold of a few sets and drew all the parts and modifications up in CAD.
