Galil SAR by Southern Tactical

I am about to buy a Galil SAR in 5.56 made by Southern Tactical of Ashland, VR. I understand it's not an original IMI, it seems to be a mix of some original refurbished and some new parts. It feels mechanically sound and dryfires fine. The company exists but no Galils on their website, I will email them for a production date and see what they say. I photoshoped the serial number, I do not really know why. Anyone has any information or experience with them please?

I have one that is an SBR. As you mention it is not an original IMI, but it is a high quality build. Not golani crap.

My son has a sbr. It had some serious trigger slap when he first shot it. I enjoy it now since that issue was taken care of by a local gunsmith.

I have a SAR assembled by Southern Tactical, the gas port is WAY too large (a known issue on Southern Tactical Galils) - to the point the ejector destroys brass and the trigger slap sprained my finger.
Most of the parts are IMI (good), the receiver is Tortort (good), but QC is an issue.

Thank you all for the feedback. I haven't heard back from Southern Tactical as yet. I bought this Galil, but haven't shot it yet. Very curious about the trigger slap, will see if I have it, will report back.
