Galil ARM rear hand guard retainer question

I received an ARM parts kit from AoA a couple of years ago and I noticed the rear hand guard has no provision for the carry handle. I know it's not an R4 cause of the shape and no Vektor markings. Is this retainer common? Found the R4 pics on the internet for comparison.

The carry handle was dropped from the Galil in later production. The retainer you have is the more commonly encountered & why the carry handles & retainers go for so much. There are a couple of after market solutions though if you desire to have the carry handle.

Yeah man felix is right the squared off retainers at the top are imi and common..

As far as the sa i believe they were exactly the same as the imi with the 45 at the top on left side. (*carry handle model)

The sa retainer with no carry handle had 45 on both sides at the top.

In this pic you can see the 45 degree cut on the top left.

I am watching bids on them however I am not paying that kind of money for one. I was hoping someone on here made repro ones for an affordable price. If you can make me one I'll gladly pay you less than $250.00.

The dude that sells those knock offs should be banned from selling. Anybody really need a carry handle that bad?

I got one, cost me 88 bucks with shipping from Taiwan and a month to get it. It is steel with what looks like a parkerized finish, magnet sticks to the retainer and the handle. For something
advertised as airsoft it's better made than the Fal and HK carry handles I've had. I haven't put it on the gun yet and plan to do that this weekend so not sure of the fit just yet.

The above pic shows that the handguard must be modified on the ATI ARM to fit, I also had to file off the side of the pin that holds the handle in place. All in all it was a good fit.

Wow, $250 for a rear ARM handguard retainer. Never would have thought that. Omg, I really miss the 80’s. I think I paid $875 out the door for my IMI Galil ARM in the box, sling, cleaning kit, sight tool, manual, with (3) 35rd mags and (2) 50rd mags in factory IMI boxes.
