Sorry for being offline for so long, we have been buried in work.

The story on the S.A.B.R.E. is a long one, we submitted the first sample over 18 months ago 7 months later Tech branch gave a "thumbs down" , we then made some changes per the

ATF letter, resubmitted a physical sample and on Christmas eve 2012 we received a letter and success!

It fires from an open bolt, is locking breech gas piston system similar in design to the rare open bolt M16 design and one of the reasons we received approval I believe is that the recoil/buffer spring is not located in the upper.

It is an amazing advancement for the mac family, upper is machined T6 aluminum anodized and uses ar barrels with our modified gas piston system attached.

Michael - Alliance Armament

Serious congrats to you guys! Can't wait for some video!

I'm down for one. Now we just need an approved belt fed upper. And a .22 lr conversion too!

That's almost too good to be true. I am in for the M11/9 version.

Am I the only one wondering if its a good idea to shoot .223 out of a comparatively flimsey m11? On the other hand, I'd better get on the wait list as soon as possible. I'm not going to get pushed to the back of the line like I did on the MAX31a

That's awesome, but kind of a reversal from the ATF's stance on these in the past, right?

Not to curse this one, but didn't they approve some belt-fed uppers for the Mac platform only to change their minds, sort of adopting an unspoken "lesser but not greater than original caliber" policy (ex. Allowing .22lr conversions)?

They don't seem to mind 9mm conversions on .380 guns.

Put me on the list for big and little Mac and a M11/9

...and show some pics / video or it hasn't been produced yet.

I think we all want to know:

What is the ROF?

Does it require any mods to the lower?

What is the target price range?

What is the expected wait time for each type of MAC?

Is it select fire, or full auto only?

What is the standard barrel length?

one of the reasons we received approval I believe is that the recoil/buffer spring is not located in the upper.

It's a super cool mod, and I'd love to have it, but I have a question for all you guys that are so quickly "in"... you're seriously that willing to drill out the back of your registered lower and permanently convert to an AR/TASK-type rear-stock buffer/recoil assembly in order to get 5.56 capability? I might consider getting another MAC to dedicate just for that, but if you only have one...?
