No one has ever shot their hand off shooting a MAC on FA using a strap.

That MAY be true, but its the guy who IS using a strap that will be the first to shoot his hand off using a strap.

Funny thing about the front strap... the first and only time I've ever shot a MAC10, it was with the front strap. The owner recommended I screw on the barrel extender, but I didn't want too. I did a full mag dump (30 rounds of .45) with one trigger pull. That was the most fun I'd had in a LONG time! I could feel the heat from the exiting gases on my hand and it was BAD ASS!

The strap has a place. To really enjoy the M11- MAC10 in it's factory configuration, you need to use it. But for me, I prefer mine in slowfire configuration. If I want to go fast, I'll borrow my friends MAC10 during our 4th of July party :D

Not gonna happen. even if you let go of the strap the gun will pull up and to the right. Always away from your off hand. These guns have been out there for how long 50 some years and still no hand gone. The strap is there foe a reason use it it won't hurt you.

For the good of noobs that come to us for advice we need to give them the best we can. We need to do this without lies and half truths and myths about our sport. The are better grips out there, I've even made my own. There are better stocks and again I've made my own. For thr M/11 there are other options. We have got to stop with the BS and help these guys out.

That's very refreshing to read, pirate, especially after the damn gang-berating I got for pointing out the source material of a sticker design. Oh, and accusations of "not doing my own research". Yeah, I skimmed EVERY THREAD of the 4 pages I could veiw, clicked every link in the link thread, made a 1/2 dozen calls before asking for help in this thread. I didn't notice/expect the search function to show older theads I couldn't seem to access before. I see 2 or 3 other strap threads now.

So, OLD me.

Anyway, I am glad to see folks like you with a sense of community, comradery, and helpfulness, and thank you for that, and the others who have taken the time to answer my questions.

I am a n00b. I have tons of questions. Contrary to some's assuptions, I try research before coming to you guys. I will, now that I know it exists, use the search function here. I don't even have a proper name to my knowledge of the part I am looking for now.

Thanks Timberwolf, I will prob order a strap today once my other two leads fizz out.

For the rest of you (trolls), please don't let my n00b questions interupt you MAX circle jerk. Don't visit this thread maybe, or use the ignore function, I know I will!

You're welcome! This board is a great resource, even with the BS that you sometimes have to wade through. Welcome to the club.

True.

What BS are you referring to in this thread?

Actually, the logic in my statement (that you quoted) is 100% unimpeachable, and cannot be refuted.

Re-read it. And keep re-reading it until you see what I'm saying. Anyone who values logic cannot possibly disagree with it.

I still take the shot off fingers as mostly a joke. I can just see Garandman sitting around the campfire scaring kids with his gorey stumps story...

The only F/A weapon that I know of that actually has shot off fingers is the Glock 18. Even then, only when fired by completely unprepared amateurs.

I'm a noob too! My PS/.45 is my first full-auto firearm. I purchased it with the original strap, and shot it like that ever since. Then I purchased a strap from Timberwolf... best transaction ever! And when it arrived, it was a perfect copy (minus the logo) of my original. Then, I waited three-weeks for my Class 3 dealer to order and receive the Viper .45 from Gem-Tech, who had it in stock. Then, another 3 mos for the NFA to return the Form. Even now, I hold the MAC with the Strap. I like old school I guess. And still have my fingers... as do everyone else I've let shhot the beast... because it goes up and to the right like a bat out of hell!

Oh, is this the n00b friendly thread? Tommy, can you put your Viper .45 on with the strap and hanger still on? What does PS mean? I like old school too, that's why I am considering the Viper .45. I am thinking that 147 grain 9mm is too much of a hassle, why not go with the already subsonic .45? About how much smaller is the Viper .45 than the old school Sionics? I like that it keeps that classic look. :)

All threads are newbie friendly, but not necessarily n00b friendly.

...Internet usage of the full spelling of "newbie" has not been as widely used as shortened forms. A common variant is "n00b" or "noob", in many cases a negative term where it degradingly refers to users who disrupt other users...

Quit the semantics, man up, and stop the bullshit! Going by your logic, I could say, "That MAY be true, but its the guy who IS using a VFG that will be the first to shoot his hand off using a VFG." Does that make it true? No! Come on. Be real.
