I've sent a few stamps 3-4 days apart, and had pending dates over 2 weeks apart and gotten them back in the same envelope. Given that, I'm quite confident that the examiners pay pretty good attention to the names and such on the forms and will expedite them if at all possible.

Wouldn't you kind of expect that if you sent a few appplications, 3-4 days apart, probably to the same examiner, to go through the same exact process that they'd be completed in about the same time also? I don't think the miracle you witnessed had anything to do with your kind hearted examiner expediting the process.

Plus I think they mail stuff out once a week at that office. I don't think anyone is burning the midnight oil at BATF's NFA branch.

I would agree with you more if the pending dates weren't two weeks apart. I would suspect that since all trusts are now being reviewed by ATF legal (supposedly) that perhaps they got thrown in the same batch going to legal and perhaps that's how they ended up being "together".

Anyhow my point was that the second one was obviously "expedited" to some extent since the common experience right now (for Lamberger anyway) is 5 months pending to door, and my second one was only 4.5 months while my first one was 5 months.

If the numbers that are rubber-stamped on the top are any indication (i.e. sequential per state), those guys are *SLAMMED* busy. I'll try to remember to look at them again tonight to see if I can make any sense of them.

it's always so anticlimactic picking up an NFA toy. Fill out the tax form, write the check, off on my way. But it always warms my heart to drive through downtown with a machinegun in my trunk to get back to the highway :D

Cannot get any closer to five months than that!

For those still waiting I wish patience for you all!

The system being slow and what it is, at least it does grind forward!!

Gee now I need to go out to Dave Spiwak's website and see if he's got any little ones!!

:clap :patriot :uzi

I wonder if their volume increases, decreases, or remains steady in winter. In other words I wonder if they're catching g up or falling further behind.

I just had a tax paid form 4 to me, from an individual in Oregon, took only 2 months. I am a C3 dealer, but that usually means nothing on form 4s, generally they take the same time frame as a non-dealer.
The examiner for Oregon only has a few states to do, which is odd because as I recall those are not big C3 states like FL, Texas, PA and Ohio

I have one for ya. I sold two NFA toys to a friend of mine. 1 a suppressed Ruger .22, 2 a MAC 10 9mm SMG. Next month it will be 1yr. The C-3 took less than 4wks. and it's all been form 4 since. Sorry to give out bad news.

Have you called yet? There's pretty much *GOT* to be something wrong with those transfers. There isn't a single examiner showing on NFA tracker that's still working on forms from a full year ago. They're all at 6 months or less.

Got my first stamp in Jan '98 for a Frankford Arsenal M16. Since then the process has become routine. But the excitement hasn't worn off - I still get pumped when I hear that approved form 4s have arrived.

Wait time for the latest:
Forms sent in 9/30/11,
Approved forms received 1/24/12.
SBRs, Can and an MG.
Not the fastest I've experienced, but not too bad in light of recent trends.

I am currently in the early stages of waiting on Form 4 approval from a TN seller (SMG) to my SOT here in FL. Tax stamp check was cashed 3-4 weeks ago so I am sure I will have another 3-4 months to go...

Try 5-6 months to go.
