In the video, although Ian mentioned the restrictor ring, he forgot to mention that some registered bolts are clearanced for the restrictor ring and some are not. It makes a difference if you think that you can just drop your registered bolt in any receiver only to find out you have to remove the restrictor ring.
Absolutely! But a few minutes in the mill with a carbide cutter and the bolt is good to go. I'm probably in the minority, but I prefer the ring. I'm convinced that it adds some stability to the bbl although I'm aware some argue that it adds nothing.

I agree. I have a group industries registered bolt with the clearance cut for the restrictor ring and it runs like a top for many thousands of rounds in two different host guns.
