Hi all,

The desire to add an Uzi to the collection has kicked off.

I am only looking at Norinco and IMI semi auto 9mms.

Looking to get alignment on values and if people had gone one way or the other.

Norinco route is looking to be about $1k after FFL and taxes fees. Then I'd have to go about replacing that thumbhole bamboo stock the proper Israeli full stock along with the necessary parts and legwork.

IMI route I have not seen anything go for less than $1.6k whether that be the Model A or B and while its not a life changing amount of money it's still a substantial amount, it's still something that could be spent on ammo, mags or another platform.

Thanks in advance!

This is a trick question, right?
IMI are the guys who developed the UZI and built it with the correct materials and the correct heat treating. Norinco are Chinese junk by comparison

IMI and don't look back. Former Norinco owner here, endless problems that never could be remedied 100%.

My IMI runs 100% with anything you feed it.

Would take a Group Ind. or McKay before any Norinco. IMI is the Best. So just buy the the Best!

I had a Norinco, eventually I will replace it. With an IWI.
OTOH, if I find another Norinco tomorrow for a good price, I'll buy it.
It's simply that, if you pay retail for tbe Norinco, and "correct" it to IWI Spec, you will spend as much, or more, vs IWI.

A and B models are essentially the same except for the sights. The B's sights are like on an AR and a are bit easier to adjust than the A's but the sights on an A are a bit more robust. Really very little to choose between the two

Definitely get the IMI UZI, you won’t regret it!!! Accept no substitutes. The A model had the original SMG sights, the B model had the upgraded sights. The B model had a slightly different bolt/firing pin safety. Check out the library sections, excellent info!!

IMI, have a Norinco that I got for $400 that's why I bought it, tons of issues, it's now a shadow of it's former self, the only original parts are the receiver and bolt.
