Looking to get my first MG.. Only options are really the M11 or M10 for now, if it goes anything like my last 5 years getting started in NFA stuff I will be neck deep in MG's soon :marines

I'm sure several of you have owned both, which one would you go with? I don't mind spending money on ammo so I don't really have interest in the 22 kit for the M11 if that helps your decision.

When you say M11 are you referring to the .380 or the M11/9 in 9mm?

A lot of it comes down to personal preference and availability. I wanted an m11/9 and that's what I got.
I"m really digging the M11 in .380 with a lage Max31k... otherwise it's too much of a bullet hose.
The .45 is what I'd get if it was M10 compared to the 9.

From your posting, it seems as if you might just as well start shopping for both the M10/45 and the M11/9 now. Then just buy in the order that the opportunity to buy at terms that are acceptable to you happen. And even keep an eye out for an M11-380 along the way.

In any case, best of luck, and enjoy whatever you decide to pursue!

MHO, YMMV, etc.

You should really shoot a M10/45 first as some find the grip kinda big and prefer the M11/9.

If I could ONLY have one, I would choose the M10/45. It has a beefier frame, lower ROF, has 9mm option, (plus some others that are coming). The M10/45 was my first full auto.

The M11/9 is the lego of the MG world with it many customizing options. So if you like options, this is THE MAC to get. The new CFW bolt is the latest great option.

Honestly I wanted the M11/9 but it seems like they're a little tougher to find deals on (I'm guessing cause the upgrades now). I have my eyes on a few M10/45's and I don't think ill be disappointed

I have both. I bought my M10/45 first then my M11/9.
I seldom shoot my M11/9 because I just have a thing for the larger caliber M10/45.
My M10/45 has the heft and feel of a "manly" gun and its just cool...but I'm a MAC nerd so that sways my opinion a bit.
However, if I was only going to buy ONE i would go with the M11/9 just because there are tons more accessories for it.

Good answer... Although you favored both haha. I think I am just going to grab what comes at this point, both seem solid

I had the M10/45 first. In stock form it's a bullet-hose built like a brick. Add a solid stock and a suppressor, and it becomes manageable. Switch to 9mm to drop the ROF, and it becomes pretty controllable.

But I eventually sold the M10. But at the time I figured anything it would do, the Uzi I had since acquired could do as well.

Having said that, I have still kept an M11/9 around, and it gets about equal range time as the Uzi. Before Lage started producing his slow-fire uppers, I had drilled my receiver and was doing the TASK slow-fire conversion. I now have a couple of Lage uppers that I use. As noted by others, there seem to be more options for the M11/9 than anything else.

If you primarily intend to run drums with a MAX-31, I would look at the shorter overall package you can get from the MAC11 or M11/380. For a while there, they could be had at a discount to the M11/9, but they seem to be about even any more.

In the end, I'd recommend you keep your eyes open, and try to shoot as many configurations as possible before buying (which admitedly can be difficult, if you don't already know someone with the guns).

With the cost of the MAC series continuing to climb, I might look at a few alternatives if I was shopping for a subgun now. The guns from BRP look interesting, but I haven't played with any. And I've seen some good prices on S&W76 and MK-760 guns in recent months.

I went with the MAC 10 in 45
Shot a M-11/9 back before LAGE was out it just left a bad taste in my mouth as it didn't run.

NOT the problem today, they have become popular enough that not only are the kinks worked out they do have the most options.

I still wouldn't trade my MAC 10 for another SMG though it's one of the few guns I really really like.
Same Reasons as Blackbelt.

I am partial to the Fat MACS because the first MG I bought was a PS M10/45 in 1989. Get the Lage slow fire upper if you get an M10/45 and a good Suppressor. I own two M11/9's. If you get an M11/9 get hourself a CF-W slow fire bolt. While you are waiting for the transfer to go through ask about spare parts and accessories you will need.

Do you like the idea of a .22lr conversion? That was one of the reasons I was swayed toward the M11/9.

You'll end up with both, so the first one will be the gun you find first at a price you're willing to pay.

I got the M11/9 first, mostly because of the Lage products available for it. I have the Max-11 upper, the Max-31 upper, the Max-11 22lr kit, a Masterpiece Arms upper, and 2 CF bolts.

I got the M10/45 second, but no accessories for it yet.

I'm waiting on a stamp for a Vector RR uzi and I'm on the lookout for a M11/a1 to complete the set.

Pricing of M11 going out of sight. Lage has done many good things for both. M11 does not go 45 caliber and M10 does not go drums. Tough decision. I have M10 with Lage .45 and 9mm uppers. Both are fun.

Honestly the last 4 m11/9s I've tracked on gunbroker have gone for less than $7k including Frank's... with a bunch of extras, sometimes a silencer included.

They aren't pulling any more (lately) it seems compared to the rest. Not $8-9k guns like a few months ago.

Here's one of Franks with a BIN price of $9000 that went for $6800 a couple hours ago. Lots of extras with it.
