Question, has anyone tried using an FBP M/948 magazine in a STEN?
They look about identical, just assembled a bit differently.

I’ve got 2 Stens and I’d be glad to try it out for you in them. I’d ship it back too.
I’ve wondered if they’d work but never had one to try.

Thank you for the offer.
I was hoping to hear from someone who has already had experience with the FBP M/948 magazines in a STEN gun or a Lanchester.
The FBP magazines seem well made and coming from a post WW2 era I would hope they are dimensionally consistent.

I thought about this thread a few weeks back and decided to throw a FBP M/948 magazine into my APEX order. I finally got around to trying the magazine in both my side feeders this evening and it seems to be good to go -- no failures at all. The fit in both guns is just a bit more snug than my other STEN mags.

The one caveat I'll note is that the presentation angle wasn't quite right on my magazine. It didn't cause any issues today, but I will adjust it. I'm not sure if that's all of the FBP mags or just the one I have:

(I blasted and reparked the FBP mag when I was refinishing some other STEN mags recently -- I believe it was black and a little rusty when I got it from APEX).

Thanks for doing this!

Are you using the KAK barrel?

Thank you for sharing the results of using the FBP M/948 in your STEN and Sterling.
To me the FBP magazines appear to be manufactured to a bit higher standard than ordinary STEN magazines.
I never considered changing the STEN MK2 barrel out and using a 9MM suppressor on it.

No problem, and thanks for the tip on these FBP mags. They indeed appear to be of very high quality, particularly when compared to the converted 20 round STEN mags which seem to be all that's readily available nowadays.

Based on my testing I have snagged the 9 remaining very good condition FBP mags from APEX. 😁
