Sometimes my Vector will eat a case and somehow it winds up BEHIND the bolt. So I have to lift the top cover to clear the jam.

WTF? seriously.

last time, the case mouth bit into the fiber pad on the recoil spring so hard that I had to pry it off

how on earth does a case get back there? what can I do to stop it?

Not with my Uzi, but I have a Ppsh41 currently fit with a 9mm conversion barrel that has a bad ejector that has occasionally done exactly the same thing. For the life of me, I can't figure out what little open space the case manages to find to get back there, but it does. In slow motion footage from a friend's camera, we can see that the case is being spun rather violently at high rpm. We think the ejector is at too radical a forward cant, which is causing this. On full, the thing is a jamomatic, only firing 2 to 4 rounds before the empty case gets spun so hard that rather than flinging away, it hovers in place, impersonating a turbo impeller, until the bolt comes forward and mashes it and the next round in the magazine in a jam. Oddly, on semi-auto, the case ends up making contact with something as it spins, and bounces away clear,...functioning 100% reliably in semi. I'm gonna file away on the ejector to mimic a 1911 Commander ejector shape, which I'm hoping will rectify this.
