Tom was able to achieve the same level of suppression with a shorter can.
The VERS seres replaced the CAC suppressors and offer a great value backed by superior customer service excellence in a smaller package. What's not to like?!

Obsolete? Hardly. On page 18 of the Bowers catalog you'll see "CAC Series Silencer Retrofits". I had my CAC-9 upgraded and now I have the latest Vers stack and inserts for a M11/9, M11-A1, UZI, and all Lage uppers. Plus lifetime service and cleaning for only $20 return postage.

^ Me too! This is my third baffle stack upgrade plus the adapter and a bunch of mounts including one for the Uzi.

I wish he would make some smaller cans and 3 lug. His customer service is second to none in the business.

You may already have the latest stack. I *think* the Versadapts saw life with the VERS suppressors with their new baffle stack. For a while, both the CAC and VERS suppressors where being sold by Tom at the same time before he eventually discontinued production of the legendary CAC series. A quick call should give you the answers you seek.
FWIW, my CAC is in the low 500 range and I paid less for it than the new Uzi barrel nut adapter. ;)

I was just joking about being obsolete, hence "lol"
I love my big black CAC.Customer service is awesome. I also would buy a three lug adapter .

Interesting info. I have a Bowers CAC 9mm in the mid-5500 serial number range, bought in early 2011. It has the adapter for different threads. Is there a retrofit for the baffles which Tom recommends? I had not heard this previously.

Also, while it may be discontinued, they are still out there for sale new, as well as the VERS 9.

Look and see if the baffles have the scallop cut or "dish" coming off of the center of the baffle. If so, then it is the newest stack

I too have been waiting for a 3 lug. They say they are going to make it.

He has been saying that for years. All he would have to do is make a Vers adapter fitting for the Gemtech 3 lug like TBA and Liberty did. I have my own ideas why he hasn't.

Looking down the front of the muzzle with a flashlight, it appears that the last/end baffle is 'dished', or funnel-shaped. It is symmetrical and round, though. Is that what you mean? Thanks for the tip.

Bowers uses "M" baffles. The bullet passes through the middle of the "M" . Look at the blast baffle. It will be easy to tell. Basically thier will be a scoop taken out of the middle of the "M" on one side

From the end cap, the baffles will look symmetrical. You'll need to examine the baffles from the suppressor's mount end to determine your baffle shape.

Yeah, I can't find my little inspection flashlight on a flex hose so there's no way I can see anything in there, even in sunlight. It looks like a singularity without the event horizon just past the inlet thread.

I wrote Tom Bowers and asked him if the serial # indicates a retrofit. Maybe I'll get an answer.

Edit: I had an answer from him waiting in my email when I wrote the above. Yup, needs the full monty - everything but the tube gets replaced. Yikes! How big an improvement did you all see with this upgrade over the older baffles & inserts?

Hmmm. Maybe it's time to send my CAC-45 I to be cleaned.

But this might give you an idea of what the baffle stack looks like. This was the latest & greatest 5 or 6 years ago. I'm not sure if it's been redesigned since then. This is the third style of baffles I've had since I bought this can (s/n under 15).

eta: here's a shot of the less dirty CAC-45 next to an unfired VERS-9s.
