I'm trying to track down when Action Arms replaced Magnum Research as the importer of pre-ban Galils. I'm trying to track down when a transitional model 372 might have been imported.

Thanks for any help.

I can't tell you the exact dates of the switch, but I can give you a datapoint. I purchased a 372 in June of 1984, brand new. It was generally in the "transitional" configuration (ARM with bipod and carrying handle removed, AR handguard - but with M-16 flash suppressor and MR markings, instead of Galil FS and AA markings as the transitional guns were reported to have). So this appears to have been one of the last MR guns.

Magnum Research did a recall on the 7.62mm Galil sometime in late 1985 so they were still in business at that time. I bought my first Action Arms Galil in Aug of 1986. Your transitional period is likely somewhere between the two.

Hope that helps.
