Looking for someone to make me a suppressor with the following features.

-2” OD
-7” OAL max
-direct thread 1/2x28
-user serviceable
-titanium k baffles

Before anyone mentions bowers, he’s a nice guy but his baffle design sucks balls and only makes 1.75” OD

The Curtis tactical guys did something similar to this but they only do the baffles that screw together which is a bitch to take apart. I believe they have been bought out too and thundercans are not interested.

Know anyone that could do this for me?

Thanks

9mm?
Any reason why you want k baffles?
I like the cones like Ecco uses that shield the tube from fouling.

With that large of an OD, I'd rather go with a coaxial design. I am an FFL / SOT and have the components to do a huge 2.25" OD and 5" long with an internal tube using 1.5" baffles. I am using a combination of SS and Ti. I hate working with Ti so limiting myself of which components I use for it. I will most likely make a Bixler mount for it as it is my favorite for 9mm SMG's.

I have also been looking at re-coring one of my MK9K's with SS conical baffles that are shielded for ease of cleaning and disassembly. I need to do some testing as the MK9K is like almost 8" but I think it could be cut down and still have similar performance if gutting the stamped baffles for these conical shielded cones. While the inner tube is aluminum, I am not concerned since the shielded baffles should contain most of the fouling.

Anything that goes out to the outer tube can be shielded using SS shim stock like I normally do like this:

I’d pay money for either of what you just described

I just created this post about Dr Dater passing away 1/21/25: https://uzitalk.com/forums/index.php?threads/dr-phil-dater-passed-away-1-21-25.100935/
He was the creator of the MK9K.
You can read this old post from 2004, where I list 10 reasons why the MK9K was my favorite back then: https://uzitalk.com/forums/index.php?threads/gem-tech-mk9k-group-buy-3-lug-config.8354/
I was able to drum up the demand enough that they put it back in the catalog in 2005.
I knew Dater wasn't doing well for sometime. He reached out to me last year and I was able to acquire his remaining inventory of MK9K components and the drawing package. I didn't get any fixtures though so I have made some fixtures but need to make some more.
I really don't want to get into the business of selling any cans but again since I am an FFL / SOT, I wasn't going to miss this opportunity.
I was planning on completing a few in the original classic design. Then complete some hybrid versions using SS conical baffles that are easier to service. Again, I would like to make it shorter but haven't done any testing yet. I have a stack ready to go to do the testing, just haven't done it. I was planning on doing them just for me but I have more components for just me but I don't want to deal with the hassle of selling cans either.

As strobro32 posted, it would be great if the HPA passes. I do have plenty 1/2-28 MK9K direct thread rear mounts though.

As some may also know, I had Curtis Tactical make the first CT9KS to my specifications and one of those was to use the same thread pattern as the MK9 / MK9K / Phoenix.

I made this 2x10 in .45 a couple of years ago. Its a integralish can for a BRP Stemple. Made a 9mm barrel for it also. Mostly aluminum. Core is 1.378. Whole thing is held together by compression. Trick with coaxial designs is to get the gas to dump into the outer chamber fast, but controlled.

Is your concern with aluminum cleaning? If so, Breakthrough Suppressor cleaner seems to be very effective and is aluminum safe.

The Mk9k has an aluminum blast baffle while the remaining are stainless. My first mk9k, I shot so much that I eroded the blast baffle till the ID was close to 3/4"

That seems very backward in terms of material selection. I wonder what the thinking was.

I suspect it was just because it is easier to machine. The late Dr Phil Dater told me at the time to let him know basically when it was completely eroded.. This was back when you could get a 100 round bulk pack of the white Winchester White box at Walmart for $10. LRM suppressors said he would void the warranty of the suppressors he made if anyone used that ammo. I used it sometimes mainly unsuppressed just to get the brass and just blasted with it unsuppressed. I pulled some bullets and the powder looked like Win231. I started to think that maybe W231 was just an abrasive powder so I switched to VV320 (Dater's favorite) but it dried up then I started using Titegroup back then.
Here is a picture of my old SWR GS9K2 baffles. I'd rather just do stainless steel than use aluminum.

Another picture from my old SWR Trident which uses a SS blast baffle:
I never really shot this one that much either and the aluminum shows some erosion while the stainless is like new.

Yeah. I'm joining a range that requires FA shooting be done suppressed. I don't want to increase the ROF much on my guns, so low back pressure would be more important to me than sound reduction.

Amphibian, sign me up if you make some. I think threading the ass end in HUB would be the play and then people can have flexibility in mounting decisions.
