Colt Pattern AR-9mm 40round mag source?

Several years ago, I picked up some 40 round metal Colt Pattern 9mm mags.

Can't seem to find a source for something like this.

Anyone know of a source to find them?

ProMag has the 40 round 9mm for *Standard Mag Well* but you're not working with that I'm assuming :

The 40-rounders were originally for some foreign subgun that I can't remember now and were modified for use in the AR by cutting a hole for the mag catch in the side. They were a one-shot import deal a long time ago so there's no place you can go to for a commercial source for them now. Just keep looking around the various gun boards and Ebay to try to find them. I have a half-dozen of them that work perfectly and they are definitely NOT for sale.

Yeah, the 40s may have been modified from another mag.
They are definitely not marked "Colt" or anything else for that matter.
But they run well.
Just wish I had more!!!

I had seen the ProMags in my search for the others.
Interesting concept and I may have to grab a few and test them.
Sure would make things a bit easier to just have to swap out the upper and not bother with a mag well block.

Hadn't seen the +10 basepads before. Also a consideration.

Just starting my search.
I hadn't fired my AR9 in a few years
I had forgotten how much fun it was, i guess!!!
I have 5 of the 40s and really wish I had gotten more!!

I'll keep my eyes open.

I will take a look at the shop to see if I have any left over. It's been many years since I sold them. Check with the member Vector Arms they bought out the old Vector Arms he may still have the FMK 40 round mags for the Uzi you can then get them cut for the Colt

The only thing I don't like about Uzi mags for the Colt 9mm system is that the Uzi mags are dimensionally smaller than the actual Colt mags, so they rattle. They also don't have a last round bolt hold open tab at the back of the follower.

Back in the day during the National Assault Weapons Ban, M60Joe would modify Uzi mags for the Colt mags for the Colt mag catch. For an additional charge he would weld a small steel tab to the back of the Uzi follower that would activate the last round hold open.

Every once in a while PSA would run a sale on 32 round Colt style 9 mm mags with the steel follower. They were the same configuration as the Colt pre ban mags. At the beginning of the NAWB, as part of the switch over from pre '94 to post '94, Colt went from parkerized 9mm mags with steel followers to blued LEO marked m as gs with plastic followers. The plastic followers can get cocked in the mag body. I never had that problem with the steel followers.

As fate would have it, I was digging through some stuff and found three more, but they are cut for the Uzi and not the AR.

The other six that I have are cut for the AR, but NOT the Uzi.

So...
I'm looking to see if anyone knows anyone who can cut the 3 "Uzi" mags to add the AR cut and the 6 AR mags and add the Uzi cut.

Figure that way, I'll have 9 40 rounders that I can swap between the platforms.
