Found this info on the M12, in the book " The MAC Man " written and sold by a member of Uzitalk (http://www.machinegunbooks.com/ ).

The SWD SM12 .380 Pistol
SWD also produced and marketed a BATF
approved closed-bolt, semiautomatic pistol
in .380 ACP caliber, which was essentially
a shortened version of the SM11/9. Like
the SM11/9 the SM12 had a threaded
barrel, but no buttstock. The semiautomatic
trigger mechanism was the same Atchisson
design used in the SM11/9. Previous
.380 submachine guns and pistols made by
MAC and RPB were designated the M11
model, but SWD named their pistol the
M12, so it wouldn't be confused with the
9mm Parabellum SM11/9 pistol. The first
M12 pistol, serial number 12-0000001, was
recorded in SWD's records on 29 August
1991; the last documented serial number was
12-0010497 15 April 1994.
SM12 pistols were marketed by several
different Daniel operated companies, resulting
in different markings. Early SM12s were
marked "SWD Incorporated", after SWD
was dissolved the pistols were marked SM11/9mm,
Leinad Ducktown, TN or FMJ Ducktown, TN.

If you plan to keep it a while, buy spare firing pins. They tend to go thru them!
Sounds good! I am having a hard time finding parts and mags. Anyone know of a good source? Or is my best bet for a good deal gun shows?

Also how are the SWDs compared to the other manufacturers, leinad and fmj? Haven't shot it yet since the mag that I do have, the lips don't pinch closed enough to hold rounds.

Same owner Silvia, and Wayne Daniels, leinad is Daniel spelled backwards , FMJ was a company that one of them formed after the divorce. They are like Jennings firearms, The name changes after any legal issues.

If you shoot the M12, make sure to put a little blue Loctite on the firing pin set screw....you can see it on top of the bolt. If it comes loose it will bind the bolt in the upper.
I didn't care for 380 so I tried the MPA 9 in 9mm. About the same size but the MPA had TERRIBLE trigger slap so I sold it too.
As "cool" looking as Macs are....in 9mm, they just can't beat a Glock 19 w/33rd mag!!!
