I seen where Northern Maine Tactical Supply has New Full Sized Vectors for $5500. Seems a TAD high, most prices i see are in the $3500-4000 range. I agree with whats been said though, at some point, if things dont change, 5500 will seem like a good price.

That's just plain stupid. With the exact same item still widely available for over $1,000.00 less, they may as well speak the truth. The gun is not for sale for a year or so. Karl.

If I remember correctly from Shotgun News several years ago, Vector bought roughly 10,000 registered Uzi receivers from the now defunct Group Ind. on auction. I bet they haven't sold all 10,000 guns. Why not stop half way through the run and sit on them until the price goes up and rerelease the remaining several thousand. They'll be laughing all the way to the bank.

Even though I paid out the a$$ for one, I would love to see the law overturned. As far as investments, I would much rather bank on the stock market then go through a long waiting period for freedom. Even as bad as the economy is right now, I raked in so much from the NYSE, two years off is nothing.

Has a ring to it though. A 3-5 month waiting period for approval on freedom. Sounds free to me.:heavy

Vector got 3,315 reg'd. rec's. They sold ~2,300 as SMG's and the last 1,000 will go as mini's. Karl.

Yeah, I'd heard a little over 3,000 receivers, 3,315 sounds right. I understand that they paid about $77 each for them. Let's see: $77 each for receivers, $300 each for parts kits, $200 to assemble = $577 in each gun = $2,000 in profit per gun in Vector's pockets X 3,315 = $6,630,000 in profit for Vector from the FA Uzi's alone.
Then there's the matter of the SA Group Industries receivers that were sold at auction for a reported sub-$1 price.
Some guys get really lucky in this business, but most of us just enjoy the toys.:mg

3,318 transferables and 109 DS's for $291,500.00 = $85.06ea.
93 pre ban semis for $13,200.00 = $141.94ea.
15,505 post ban semis for $550.00 = $.04ea.

Karl.

Wonder why the preban semi receivers cost so much more than the transferables?

Same basic profit margin. Buy for $150.00 and sell for $900.00 is the same as buy for $500.00 and sell for $3,000.00. Karl.

It would be cheaper to buy a Mini Uzi and have it converted back to a full size than pay $5500 for a full size. What are people thinking? I am glad I got mine last year. Best $2750 I ever spent.

While i am for sure not wealthy the cost really isnt the issue. Of course i dont want to be ripped off, but dont mine someone making a profit i want them there when i need something else. While i paid 3780 for my Uzi i am patiently (?) waiting on, i could have saved close to a 1000 dollars if i had bought it a bit earlier. Options include waiting to see if prices come down...while that may happen, not holding my breathe. Buy the thing now and pay the extra, which is what i obviously decided to do, or simply not buy one.

This is a toy, did i pay too much? Probably. Do i care? Ask me AFTER i get it!!!!

Actually, my guess is that if you offered Vector the same $4,200.00 that they are selling the mini's for, they'd happily sell you a full size right now. Paul, congrats on making Marksman, and thanks for your contribution to helping make this board what it's becoming. Karl.
