I just stumbled across this on GunBroker and man that thing just looks sketchy. I haven't seen any other mini bolts up close to compare this to. Is this how all the Group Industries bolts for the mini-uzi's are? Or did somebody get creative and take a full size bolt, cut it down and reweld it to make a rarer mini-uzi? SWD is the maker, but did he just register the full size Group bolt and then someone else later on do the butchering or is this his handiwork? Do the registrations even differentiate between a full size and a mini?

Not an UZI expert, but all of the SWD registered bolts that I have seen in this SN range have been for the Full Size.

It's a full size bolt cut down with the nose of a mini Uzi bolt welded on. The feet look factory dimension so it might have had the trunion relieved for the feet. If so that's not good.

It looks like the inside of the feet are filed down at an angle to fit between the trunnion and receiver without relieving the trunnion.

I have one in my spare parts box, but I have not looked at it in awhile. I thought they had an angle machined into them.

That's what they look like on a bolt gun with an IMI or any other semi auto host really. I have the same setup and the host is a semi auto and the bolt is notched to clear the trunnion . They work fine. Price for it is about right . The vectors are built as machine guns but they are built from cut down full size guns and can have their own issues .

Ok I just saw the seams and thought it looked like shit. Like I said, I had nothing to compare it to. I would like a mini, but don't want a bolt because ideally I would want to be able to swap between a regular & slowfire bolt. I have seen a couple sears pop up in an auction a couple months ago.
But then prices get too close to what a M16 conversion bought right would be............
I do have a full size open bolt IMI Uzi, Olympic m16 & a Valmet m78 7.62x39.
I just keep thinking about adding to the collection. Chuck Norris in Delta Force with the Mini Uzi has always stuck in my mind. It makes a good appearance in Narcos as well.

ive had 3 mini bolt guns... those welds and its overall appearance strike me as normal and acceptable. Nothing strange...assuming the trunnion hasnt been opened to accept those feet.

Did all of your mini registered bolts have feet?
If no feet, How did they run?
All open bolt guns I assume?
Thanks -
Matt

I agree with rhouston8. It looks like a nice job. The feet were left as part of the main bolt. Stronger in my opinion.
This looks like one of the best ways to cut down a full size OB as long as the preheat/weld is done properly. Welds look pretty good.

I’ve had an OB Micro without feet. Never again. If I could get an OB mini/micro bolt gun without feet cheap enough, I’d turn it into a CB.

Two were open bolt w feet. Ran fine. Feet milled a bit in order to slide under trunnion.
One closed bolt. Runs great.

I definitely learned a little something about feet. I started my way through Dave's book and saw the notation about feet being needed to reliably strip and fire the 1st round when shooting. Thanks for the info on the welds as well. I still think I want to go with either a registered receiver or possibly a sear if I go for a mini.
