I have an M11 9mm pending approval and am considering adding another suppressor to the stable just for it. Not looking to break the bank, just one that I am not as worried about getting hot and ruining the finish. At this point to beat the additional hassle of 41f I would prefer to find one in state. A local dealer has a Gemtech GM-9 that I am considering, what's the hive thoughts on this for the M11?

What's the best mount for a subgun?
Anything to look out for when running it suppressed?

Sorry if this is a noob question, this will be my first MG, and obviously my first time suppressing one :devil

If its local and you're trying to beat the deadline I'd get the Gemtech.
If not and want larger volume Bowers makes a great product and stands behind it.
I have an Octane so I'm biased towards it.

I have an Octane 45 and I love it, but I would have a hard time putting it through rigorous FA fire.
The one beef I have with the Gemtech is the only mounts I see are direct thread mounts and I would worry about the FA shaking the can loose and leading to a baffle strike(or 5)

I have a YHM Wraith I bought cheap on GB from a son disposing of NFA items from his dad's shop. Great can, have an octane that I use for pistols and may try out on the max11k.

If I were buying one today I'd go with the Bowers Vers 9s. My shooting partner has one, and while to me it doesn't sound better than the wraith, it's serviceable by Bowers for like 20$.

+1 for the bowers ver9s

Another +1 for the Bowers Vers9s.

Or buy a "classic" old SWD/MAC suppressor for your gun (cheap), and have Bowers gut it and put in a new baffle stack and wipeless end cap.

This.

There are actually suppressors out there you can get for free. When I bought my Uzi, it came with two of the old Coastal suppressors, one in 9 and one in 45. I transferred the 45 to myself but I gave the 9 to my dealer for his postie. These old cans have little to no value but they actually run pretty well due to their immense volume. I bought an adapter and use it with my Uzi and my Mac. Someday I may go ahead and have it recored. I've seen more than one old Coastal and SWD suppressor for less than 100 and sometimes free over the years.

If I were to buy a new subgun suppressor it would be Bowers, end of discussion.

I am in the same boat with an M11/9 pending. Have a few of 9mm suppressors but I decided that a dedicated SMG can was in order. After some research, I landed on a Bowers 9S direct thread. Placed my order directly through them and it couldn't have been easier. I think I was out the door for under $550. To top it off, they even paid my dealer transfer fee.

That said, I'm looking forward to trying my Octane 45K and Omega 9K on it as well. Have a feeling the 9K will be great because of its diminutive size but it's not user serviceable, which is why I didn't want to use it exclusively. Best of luck.

If you order through silencershop, you should still be able to beat the deadline. Bowers make a great can (I have a couple). If you want something along the lines of an octane, check out the griffin revolution, too.

I ordered Feb 25. They sent the F3 presumably within days. They were supposed to "overlay" the F4 3-weeks later. I got a notice that the F3 was approved April 20. My dealer mailed the f4 April 24.

Not exactly lightning quick.

Thompson Machine Isis2. They run specials sometimes. I'm getting a "Blemmished" one for around $300?

Gemtech Mk9k w/ 3lug adapter is what I ordered as my dedicated subgun can. Suppose to be f3 to my dealer in the next month or so. Planning on running that and a Tirant 9s/9/45 that I have on my M11/9.

I'm having a slightly customized SG2 built for me, I'm looking forward to it!

Smg can specifically

Make sure the can you get is FA rated and also comparatively large in size. Cans will high volume are ideal as they don't have gas shoot back toward you.

GemTech is a great company, but the suppressor needs to be like the Viper. Large for the job.

Lastly, make sure the threads match. I don't know what the M11 has, but I'm pretty certain it's not 1/2 x 28. Don't want to mix that up after a long wait.

I bought a NIB 2-stage SWD & plan on keeping it original.
Many people say they work very well w/ fresh wipes.

I am already on the waiting list for a Lage upper, I should have it long before the F4 clears unfortunately

Another vote for bowers Vers 9s.
The right tool for the job.......

I'm 2 months into my form 4 wait on it. So no experience using it, but my experience with bowers directly has been fantastic. One of the best firearm purchase experiences so far.

DId you get the nomex cover with yours?

I bought a original Sionics 2 stage for my M10 one year newer then the gun with cover
.
It was NIB old stock when I got it. I've no intention of ever upgrading it. it works very well even without the wipe in it.
And yes I've compared it with other cans. the cost of the rebuild isn't worth it to me.

My can was 100.00 bux NIB, but it was a out of state F4 ( two stamp) so my final cost was 500.00, about 20 bux cheaper then the viper retail price without tax I was looking at.

Total cost of viper would have been 719.00 after tax Sionics NIB 500.00 after tax.

It's better built then the viper. ( my opinion)
Viper is aluminum, Sionics is 100 % steel accept for the blast chamber eyelet media.

Yes get the spanner dooohicky to take it apart for cleaning. Or make one.

Rich
PS:
My Sionics is no longer NIB thanks to me!
