I made it about a third the away down the list so if you haven’t got a call, it’s coming soon.

John Norrell Inc. and Navgunner LLC have teamed up to reproduce the original Norrell Ruger 1022 full auto anti-bounce dead blow bolt. It is made to the same exact specs used in conjunction with the Norrell full auto trigger pack. These bolts are original and hard to acquire factory Ruger bolts made in the 1970's to 1990's before Ruger replaced them with a later bolt casting unsuitable for the required modifications.

The Norrell bolt works by creating a "dead blow action" that eliminates bolt bounce to prevent light primer firing pin strikes. Light primer hits result in unfired rounds when shooting in the full auto mode. All bolts in closed bolt MGs will bounce when chambering a round unless there is a mechanism in place to keep the bolt from bouncing and creating a gap between the bolt and cartridge. The Norrell bolt has also been found to create more secure bolt closure in regular semi-auto only Ruger 10/22 ™ rifles.

This will be a limited run of bolts due to difficulty in procuring these original bolts for our modifications. Each bolt is test fired before shipping in a Norrell full auto rifle with CCI Mini-Mag ™ ammo and factory Ruger™ 10 round rotary magazine to assure proper functioning.

Notes:

1. The host bolts that we had to source are unfortunately no longer in production but we were still able to acquire a small number of quality surplus units for this project.

2. The pocket for the reciprocating weight is now cut using modern EDM so we’re able to incorporate a radius feature which significantly reduces stress concentrations in that area.

3. These bolts retain the plunger locking feature.

4. Bolts are marked with both the NORRELL & NAVGUNNER logos because we’re extremely proud of this product and what it means to John’s legacy.

5. Each individual bolt is test fired to ensure quality using a 10-round rotary magazine and CCI MiniMag ™ ammo (40 grain).IMG_7270.jpeg

The new parts work really well! I feel so fortunate for the opportunity to get them.

Damn, that’s cool. It’s nice to see NavGunners stuff running so well.
Seems to be really loud with that can. Maybe the microphone is making it louder.

Does it run with subs?

That was my dream gun, until I got my Lage 22 kit. Once I got that kit, I never thought about buying one again. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still love one but they’re expensive.

It was a grail gun for me. In high school I bought this book and dreamed over it

I haven’t played with subs much in this gun. I did try a few aguila subs this afternoon with mixed results.

The ammo I shot in the video was going supersonic so it’s always loud (but doesn’t upset the neighbors as much with the can)

It brings me joy too!

I’ve been into MGs for 25 years. I’m used to long waits. I waited over a year on paperwork, built a 30mm cannon that took 10 years, waited for a Shrike, etc.

It was amazing to see how fast you put this together. I think it was just a couple weeks from:

“I’m thinking about making bolts”

To

“Send payment”

It’s amazing, completely unprecedented, and wonderful to see

Any idea if/when more of these will be available?

@mattnh

I have just a few bolts that will becoming available by the end of next week. I’m more than happy to sell those on backorder if people are willing to pre-pay. Otherwise, they’ll hit my website as soon as they’re available. If this is something that you’re interested in, please give me a call.

Plungers are in the works, but those may take a little bit longer
