Took my Vector to the range today.. She ran like a sewing machine but loading all those mags by hand for a subgun really sucks. So, here goes another one of those "best" questions:

What's the best mag loader for UZI mags? Is there one that makes loading quick and easy? I've searched and found 3 or 4 different kinds. Which one actually works the best?

Thanks!

Get a Lulu for your UZI and you will not be disappointed. I got the Cammegan for the Uzi and I did not like it and got rid of it.

In my experience, it's best to figure out a way for somebody else to load them for you. A "Tom Sawyer" approach perhaps. Failing that, while the Lula for Uzi is a real digit saver, it did seem slower than just loading the old fashioned way. The regular Uzi loader is even slower than the Lula, but also saves wear and tear on the digits.

Best of luck with whatever you pursue.

I would have to disagree with you. Me and my buddy were loading Uzi mags and he had a hard time keeping up with me while I was using the Lula loader.

picked up a lula at the show yesterday. I was showing it to a friend that had a table there. While doing so, the guy next to him told me they were crap. I asked him how much research he did on the subject, and he didnt say anything. Then I asked him why he was selling them if they were crap. He walked away from me. Guess he was mad i bought it somewhere else.

Anyways, I did a bunch of research and read these were the best, so I picked one up.

I agree. I liked my Lula so much that I got one for the ar mags. The cammegan? I gave mine away. Even my kids like using the Lula.

With the Cammegan, I had to load rounds into the loader first. Then the process for pushing them into the mag was not exactly smooth. The Cammegan had to be filled a second time for a 32 round Uzi mag. The time that it takes to load the loader you will have the mag filled with a LuLa.

I'd say the jury has spoken and the verdict is the Lula loader. I'll pick one up and give it a try. Anything beats loading by hand. The Youtube video makes it look really easy. Thanks for ALL the input guys! Much appreciated!!

The Lula is a very good loader and I use one almost exclusively when loading 5.56 AR-15/M-16 mags. I don't have one for my Uzi, but I'm sure I'll pick one up eventually. Which is "the best loader" is relative to your specific needs and criteria. In addition to the Carmmenga, I own and use the following loaders for Uzi mags. All are good, all are different.

*The C-3 Rapid loader is absolutely the fastest Uzi magazine loader, but... The 36 round clips must be pre-loaded. Does being the fastest loader make it the best? Some think so. Given enough clips preloaded in front of the TV, this is the ultimate range loader.

*The 9mm loader for the AR-15 Beta C style drums is a very good an efficient Uzi mag loader. Only one push per five rounds and a simple two piece polymer design. Definite honorable mention if not a candadite for "the best loader".

*I've loaded thousands of rounds, (literally), using the IMI 5 round bump loader. It's all metal, one piece, with no moving parts, and is super easy to use. No question about it being "the best loader" for soldiers in the field. I think it's worth owning.

All the loaders mentioned in this thread require a short learning curve and a specific rhythm. Once mastered, all will serve you well.

There's a very nice review of magazine loaders in the Uzi Talk library.

Had the cammenga, ok, but the rounds often fall over getting them into the tray. Also always needed some type of post/bench to push the handle through with. While often my rifle takes care of the issue, occasionally I do unload a mag manually and the LULA makes that a breeze!

+1 Maglula LULA UZI Magazine Loader

I was @ SHOT some years ago taking photos for a magazine in the Mil/LE section. I came across the Israeli inventor of the Maglula LULA Magazine Loaders and he had just introduced the UZI model at the show. I stopped and talked with him for at least 20 min, mostly about UZI Talk and FA UZIs. As I was leaving he GAVE me one, asking only that I let him know what I thought about it. I brought it home and used the hell out of it (that was back when I bought WWB 1000 round cases for $110!) with both UZIs I had. I posted my results and gave a good review here on UT, sending him an email with the link to my posting.

My opinion is the Uzi LULA (and not the UPLULA) is best for Uzi. The Cammenga (and C3) work well, but for me the LULA is slightly faster and has the advantage of being able to unload rounds quickly. I like data so I'll give you mine.

The Cammenga and C3 create the illusion of speed with the rapid strokes that push the rounds into the mag quickly but you spend time placing rounds in the Cammenga first or on stripper clips for the C3. After conducting several timing tests with the Cammenga and LULA, I averaged about 54 seconds to load 30 rounds with the LULA and 70 seconds total for the Cammenga.

The Cammenga also tended to "bind up" when loading the last few rounds of Wolf ammo due to Wolf's polymer coating having a much higher coefficient of friction compared to typical brass.
