I have an affinity for .22 autoloading pistols, as well as Beretta firearms, and recently purchased a Beretta M9 RF (.22LR) pistol. I like the feel and make of the pistol, but its accuracy is a bit less than expected. I've only tried two types of ammo so far, but shooting it with excellent SK Pistol Match ammo produced a score of 70 at 25 yards at an NRA B-8 25-yard timed and rapid fire pistol target, with a one foot spread. My previous string at the same range with my vintage Beretta Model 76 produced a score of 97-2X, with a spread of 5", so it's not the shooter. (9 out of 10 were within a 3 1/4" spread) I tried also the 92RF with Federal Auto Match ammo, and results were not as good as the SK ammo.

Does anyone else have a Beretta M9 RF, and have you found an ammo that it seems to like best?

Thanks!

I should also have mentioned that with the SK ammo, I had to cycle the pistol manually for 9 out of 10 shots. It cycled fine with the Federal Auto Match ammo.

I don't have one, but kinda been considering it. Thanks for the info; I guess I'll pass on it and maybe pick up a Ruger.

You might try asking on AR15.com in the Handguns Section, Rimfire Pistols Forum. As firearms related discussion forums go, that one is pretty sane. The same cannot be said many of the other AR15.com forums.

Best of luck.
MHO, YMMV, etc. Be well.

Honestly CCI standard velocity shoots well out of most anything for me handgun wise. Federal target 711 does well for me too out of rifles

I’ve standardized on Federal Automatch. Good stuff overall especially if you catch it at Wallyworld prices.

Bought one of the new PPK .22 last week and it doesn’t like that Automatch at all, suppressed or not. I’ve seen reviews that it does better with Thunderbolt but I haven’t broken a brick open yet. Might never.

I also really like Beretta's. I have a 22LR conversion kit as well as the extended and threaded barrel for a suppressor. I really like my 9mm suppressed Beretta's so I thought a 22LR suppressed full size Beretta would be good complement. Turns out that in 22LR it spits a lot of crap back in your face (I don't have this issue in 9mm as I use non-boosted cans). After that experience, I don't think even bothered to try to group it. I'll have to break it back out again and test for groups and maybe try several different cans.

I dig the little Beretta Covert 21A with the parked metal and hardwood grips. Pretty cute gun. Sights aren't much, though.

I too like Berettas, especially .22 pistols. My favorite Beretta plinker is a 92FS with a Beretta .22 conversion kit mounted. This is not just any 92FS, but a former Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Italian manufacture pistol. I got it as a bare receiver and assembled a lower parts kit on it. It is date code marked "AT" which sets it to a 1988 manufacture. If only this pistol could talk...

That does looks sharp. 10 rounds? I just can't stomach a full size pistol with only 10 rounds.

How about a Beretta Model 89 with dual uppers and a suppressor? She's accurate as hell and very quiet.
