I am currently machining another batch of barrels. I hope to have them ready to ship by the end of next week. This will cover everyone with a barrel on back order. Have a safe holiday.

Do you ever do 40 s&w barrels?(what is cost?, can I use my 9m bolt or need a new one?
Thanks, Pat Fisk napikwan@comcast.net and UZItalk

I have not made any .40 S&W barrels at this point. You would have to have a bolt made for .40 S&W a 9mm bolt face it too small and a .45 ACP bolt face is too large. The next problem is what do you do about a reliable magazine for the Uzi.

What would be the major problem if the barrel was chambered and rifled for the 9X18mm. would that work with a 9mm bolt as the rim and groove for the ejector are very close? Magazines would not be a problem either.

You would first have to get a barrel made with the proper bore. The 9mm Makarov bore is .010" larger then a 9X19 bore. The bolt face would be fine. The Makarov is about 1/8" shorter then the 9X19 so you would probably need to install a spacer in the magazine. I don't know if the 9mm Makarov has enough power to cycle the bolt reliably. I do not see any advantage in using the Makarov instead of the 9x19. You would have about $500 into a custom barrel.

I just like the round. As far as the power to cycle the bolt it would probably take lighter springs and maybe lighten the bolt some. Just throwing out an idea is all, as you are correct, it's not really worth the money. Not to me, just a project idea is all.

Thanks for the response though, I have asked about it before on other sites and they either didn't respond or got quite insulting.

I am starting another run of barrels. This run should cover all my current back orders. I will start another run in January to try to get some barrels in stock.
