Recently, I saw a post with many of you that are handguard collectors...I just purchased my first Galil MR 332. Its in an AR configuration. Would really like to convert to ARM. Anyone want to sell a good condition ARM handguard and/or carry handle? Bi-pods seem easier to get, but that would be helpful too. - Thanks

I am doing the same with my Golani and ran into a snag with the gas block. Gunsmith says that the new ARM block I got from Blackthorne is .308 specific. I read elsewhere that they were compatible. Have you had this problem?

Bokchoy, the gasblock for the Galil .308 and 5.56 are the same. You can use a gasblock that originally came on a 5.56mm Galil on a .308 Galil.

OOps. I read in your other post you had a Golani. Your issue might Century Arms building process. They might have trimmed down the barrel to get the gas block to fit. They are known to have out of spec parts in the build.

You will also need the handguard retaining plate for the ARM model (needed for the closed bi-pod).

Be advised, that I converted my Galil Model 372 AR/M to ARM and quickly found it makes it heavier and more ackward to hold. It looks cool though.

Thanks, Che

I was able to score a rear hanger w/out carry handle to get me in the ball park. Installed a gorgeous Silver Crescent handguard and did notice the awkwardness. My Galil and FAL are such attractive firearms that I can't bear the thought of making them any more ergonomically tacticool.
