I searching out someone who can weld on the front end of an Uzi receiver to my receiver shell. Does anyone do that type work? I can do all the rest. I just don't trust myself to weld a good line and attach the front end. Any help or direction toward someone greatly appreciated.

From what I've read elsewhere there's a perceived potential legal issue of becoming a firearm manufacturer in the eyes of the government when you "build" , e.g., weld together, the firearm for another. For that reason, there are apparently those who refuse to get involved in such endeavors.

I'm of no personal experience. Just reporting what I've read. I pretty much suck at welding also.

... I think it is mostly a friend/buddy thing, due to the risks associated with it. I know a guy, but he's pretty busy doing that sort of work for friends, so if you want bumped to the top of the pile, it helps to bring something cool for trade.

Nice work! I moved from shooting to building them pretty swiftly- very satisfying to put something together!

I put off building one for years. I got one good deal on some parts on gunbroker that saved me some money. All totaled, it's still at 725.00 to build. not cheap but enjoyable and worth it to me.
