I have called Jeff 2-3 times over the last two weeks and sent him a few e-mails looking to check in on the status of my micro Galil SBR build. Jeff had said it would be ready before last Christmas but we missed that estimate. No big deal. I just want to check in with him. I have gotten no return e-mail or call. Just making sure nothing is up.

Edit: spoke with Jeff. All is well. Just working hard.

He called me the first week of January. I believe his workload is very extensive at the moment or he may be travelling which he also does quite often.

He will get back to you when he is able.

I got a message from him last week. He mentioned he would be out of communication for a while, though I didn't catch the exact reason from his message. This was probably February 3rd or 4th.

But yeah, have left him several messages and emails the last week without response.

One thing to remember about Jeff: He's retired. He told me once to never retire, as he now has a lot of family obligations...because he's retired, so they ask him to do stuff for them. He does the gun-smithing/builds for extra money, and because he enjoys it. He's never been great about answering his phone or returning calls, but, again, he's retired...

At some point, he'll retire from us as well.

Guys,
I guess I will pipe in and say not to sweat it too much. Last heard Jeff has a little over 60 rifles on deck to build. So every call the man stops to take, is one rifle not being worked on. Lou

Anyone care to throw out some names of other Galil builders and experts? Options are good and it sounds like Jeff won't be an option for a while - if ever.

If you are planning on using an ORF or Assault Weapons of Ohio receiver, most other builders won't touch them.

Don't blame them ether mine was junk sold from assault weapons of Ohio normal lock up issues.... still have it thinking of cutting it and welding a real intact imi stub on it... I do feel sorry for AWO they walking in to a nightmare

Finely got a CNC warrior and its being built now after two two painful attempts to build it myself and could figure out why it wouldn't hold headspace i was so frustrated i bought a good receiver and sent it off to be built (not that i couldn't build it) just didn't want to build the same gun three times (mine is not jeff though) if it turns out well i post a review on the work and who did it

I talk to Jeff once or twice a week. He asked me to post last week for him; in being patient; I just was to busy.

There is not many people that do this; so you have to come to the conclusion; just wait it out. If it were me; I would only take on part of what he does for the work load.

There was a post a year and a half ago; of a Galil built by a Oklahoma gun builder; not heard how it turned out?

I would pay to see Jeff's picture from his high school years. Although I cant afford to piss him off right now that he has my rifle, just to see what his hair style looked back then would be epic.

How to put this diplomatically- believe it or not I actually have a life outside of working on Galil's.

Don't like that I'm not hovering over the laptop or phone just waiting for your call- Tough SH*T!

I run a one man shop- i.e. I do everything from the actual builds to taking out the trash and I do it my way and in my own time- that would be that retired thing in action.

Don't like it see line two.

I usually tell everyone the same thing- if you want it fast call Domino's because unless I'm happy with the rifle it stays and I beat it with progressively larger hammers until it is right.
Unexpected problems with assy. can set/slow things down along with lot's of other factors- some within my control and some beyond.

Don't like it see line two.

Anyone that is unhappy with waiting for me to finish let me know and i'll ship your parts/paperweight back ASAP.

Axle- I wish you luck finding a builder- if you do and you are happy Please post the contact info here for everyone to see.

Lou your custom around corners Saiga will be ready as soon as I touch up the finish where the 40 ton press straightened out the barrel to your specs.

Adipose- go buy some flowers for the better half 'cause you won't get a couch at my place!

As for my hair- it's usually a cross between Jack Nicholson after a months binge and Gumby- I don't have the time to care what the hell my hair looks like .

Don't like it see the end of line two.

Rant off.

Rant? Sounds like every conversation I ever had with you, except you are being more polite.

I did not intend to elicit a rant. It must have been the hair comments. Jeff and I spoke a few weeks ago and I am good. I edited my post weeks ago.

Well, I meant the hair comments since I can be in the same boat after drinking bourbon while at Knob Creek

I spoke to Jeff the day of the post. He did not seem to mind the hair comments from me. Waffentomas hit the nail in the head regarding Jeff. Many people fail to realize he is retired and does not need the money. His first priority is his family and only does this as a hobby. If anyone is trying to get a hold of him, be patient. Jeff will get around to you eventually. I agree with RM308, that post sounds like every conversation I have with Jeff.

Jeff's just fine. He's real busy. He's doing 5 Galil AR builds for me, along with everything else he's doing. "Not to mention", living his life. I parted with one NIB IMI Action Arms Galil 386 and "some cash", for the funds for these Jeff Miller builds, because - He's the VERY BEST Galil builder there is. Yes, they are better than factory IMI (with CNC warrior, Douglas Match barrels, nitride everything, etc) so be patient. I for one, sure wouldn't want to "rock the boat". Thanks again Jeff, take all your time brother!
God Bless!
