Anybody know if Vector is thinking about making the UZI pistol?

They are already making a full-sized and a mini SA post ban setup. Wouldn't think it would be too much of a jump to make the UZI pistol again. I think the whole AW ban/heavy pistol thing wouldn't apply because the mag fits into the pistol grip. Plus, you can put a suppressor on a post-ban pistol......

I can't swear to it, but I thought the over 50 oz. issue makes it a no go period. Karl.

Karl, pistols are 74 oz and below. The IMI Desert Eagle in .50AE is 74 oz!

You are correct... it's a NO GO!

Karl...

Vector will NOT be making UZI pistols!

Their next project after the V-53 will be a semi-auto belt-fed!

That sux. The DE must get away with the heavy weight because the mag goes in the pistol grip and it is not a semi version of a FA weapon.

Also, after checking the IMI web site, a UZI pistol comes in at 59 OZ. You wouldn't think it would take much to knock 9 OZ off of it....

Perhaps the use of a lightweight (aluminum) lower? On the FAL DSA did that & easily reduced the weight by far more than 9 ounces. Since the main receiver does most of the work this doesn't seem like it would be hard to accomplish.

There's still the issue of it having the name IMI and UZI. That was one of the 19 specifically named. It would need to be re-named and US made as well as dropping the weight. Then there's the look alike issue too. I don't think there was any way the micro could pass the ATF test. Maybe next year though. :evilgrin Keep your fingers crossed. Karl.
