Well the price for Sterling barrels is out of sight. I don't know about you, but I think I can do better than $325. I've come across some barrel blanks, used but with plenty of life left and I can buy some time on a CNC to make the end pieces. I can make quite a few, more than I need. If I was to offer them to the forum folks would there be anyone who would want one? I was thinking about $175. Same price as a Swedish K barrel. They'll cost me a little over $125 each and I'll have to mail them off and find packageing, so I'm not exactly going to be rolling in riches from this, but It would be nice to do something for all the other Sterling owners out there. If I can find some intrest out there, I'll do a run. End pieces made of 4130 and silver soldered on. If you run 40 mags in a row through your gun non-stop so the barrel is glowing red hot, I won't promise it won't come apart. The solder melts at 1200'F . It will be "plug and play", no mods required. I won't be cutting the weird British threads for the screws, so it will be grade 8, 1/4 28 fine screws. Don't mix up the screws with the British ones. It will be about two months to get it together. So, any takers? Any interest at all?

Good start. I can sell two locally and three is five. There will be others, so I'll get on this. Don't really want to do more than 10, first run. By the end of the week, there should be five more folks.

If you check those "weird British threads " I think you will find that they are 1/4-28.

Put me in for one. Can you make it so that the barell is extended with a 3 lug (a la HK) so we can put on a can?

That would be tough. The hole in the bayonet boss through which your adapter must fit is pretty darn small. I've toyed with the idea of counterboring the muzzle and female threading it. This would allow the adapter to screw in from the outside. The factory barrel wall was judged too thin for such a thing.

With a Uzi barrel you can loctite the three lug onto the barrel threads. Not a good idea with the MK IV. You'd have a hard time getting it off when you need to remove the barrel. I suppose you could left-hand thread the adapter.

A better design would be to build a barrel from scratch that extends a threaded end through a slightly bored out boss. You could screw on a Trinity or add a three lug adapter - possibly LH threaded. I personally would like to get such a barrel.

PK, your right. I probably grabbed a metric screw by accident. Geeko9mm, the barrels I have are about 1/16th shorter than the Sterling barrel. No room for much fancy work like that. OK, that's 7 out of 10 for a first run. Three left.
