I believe what the other poster meant about you "vomiting" about the price he paid for his gun, was that he paid more than your great deal of $700 (the value of the Mini-14 and shotgun you traded to the previous owner.)

I paid $4800 for my M11/9 in 2012.

Lage uppers and ZMAGs are the way to go.

I paid $4800 for my M11/9 in 2012.

Correct, I paid a LOT more. Bought mine in 2015 for $5300 + sales tax since it was from a dealer. He had another one (1983 build date) that was well used for $4500 but I wanted the minty one.

Right now $5300 is a bargain so I'm not bitter in any way, but that's a far cry from trading a shotgun and a Mini14.
