OK guys I have this barrel that I bought years and years ago but had forgotten about it until I started going through boxes in my garage. Looking through it it appears not too be Crome lined but seems to have several more lands and groves then my typical smg barrel, or it has twice the twist rate. Any idea who made it and if it’s desirable? I’m thinking about sending it out to be cut and threaded for a suppressor, or would I be better off to have my smg barrel milled to fit the semi trunion for a SBR with threaded end, and sell this one? I know the pics aren’t much to go on but I haven’t seen to many barrels with support rings like a smg with the barrel restriction ring cut.
thanks

I have seen some UZI barrels like that where it was just like you describe but they seemed to shoot fine. I'm not clear on the origin either. Do you see any proof marks? PM me if you want me to cut it down and thread it.

Thanks for the reply, no proof marks. I’ll send a pm if I decide to cut it or sell it and buy a a different one.

Looks very similar to a Quality Parts (aka Bushmaster of Windham ME) Uzi barrel from the 80’s and early 90’s, they did a very similar relief cut under the barrel lug to fit a semi trunnion and they used a completely different type of rifling utilizing very narrow lands. Check the length, as the only full length ones they made that I recall were 18 inches and not 16 inches. They did this when some anti gun states said the Uzi Carbine violated their state law on overall length with the stock folded. I know for a fact Michigan was one of them. I had a couple of their barrels over the years that worked perfectly.
