I have been having problems with my vector .22 kit. I sent it and the gun back to Vector and Mike worked on it and said it ran perfectly when he sent it back to me. However, I am still having problems. I know the instructions say to use high velocity ammo but I am getting much better results with standard velocity ammo. Both Winchester and PMC "Target" ammo give me about 1 failure per 100 rounds. This morning I went out and tried some Aguilla high velocity and had 32 feed failures and 11 ejection failures in 100 rounds! I have tried the bulk Remington hollowpoint and it is averaging 12-15 failures per 100 rounds. Remington Subsonic works almost as good as the standard velocity stuff and Aguilla Subsonic is so weak it will not cycle. Does anyone know what brand/type ammo Vector uses for testing? Thanks.

Mad Mike should be able to answer that for you.

I use Remington and have had to do some tweaking of the bolt and barrel and mags.

I also spray the crap out of the loaded mag with BreakFree CLP before loading it and spray the ejection port/chamber.
It seems to help alot.

Aren't the .22s fun when they do run right? I just wish there was a large drum type magazine for it in .22cal.

My kit works great with CCI Standard Velocity, Winchester Dynapoint, and Remington Golden Bullet. It chokes on Federal and Remington subsonic. Keep in mind that not all Uzi conversion kits work well with the same ammunition. This is where you have to experiment with different kinds. It may be a case where your Uzi just prefers some ammunition over others. I don't know what brands Vector uses for testing.

Before shooting it this morning, did you clean and lube the mags? This is extremely important to have it function well. Also, when you load the last cartridge in the mag, push down on the bullet to make the rounds lay more horizontal. This helps to prevent the round from jamming over the chamber opening. Have you tried shooting Winchester and PMC "Target" ammo again after experiencing failures to feed and extract with high velocity? If it now fails as badly with your good performing Winchester and PMC, it sounds like there could be an extractor issue. There was a run of extractors a while back that would go bad quickly. But, before thinking it is an extractor, be sure to experiment with the above suggestions. I'm sure other people will offer suggestions for you to try.

Mine works pretty well with Wal-Mart Federal hi-velocity 550 bulk packs.

But a friend's Vector chokes on that ammo but works pretty well with PMC Zapper 40 grain solids.

Mine does not like the Zapper so go figure.

I'd suggest buying a hundred rounds of each brand of cheap ammo you can find locally. Try them all and then buy more of what worked well.

There is no magic brand that works well in every .22 Uzi kit. One failure in 100 rounds is pretty darn good. I'd stick with those brands.

mine runs great on rem thunderbolts and goldens, runs reasonably well on fed bulk hp from wally world 2-3 ftfeed /100, and runs pmc sporadically

federal 711b is like the rem stuff near 100%

i use wd40 or equivalent to lube the mags before shooting though

Same thing here. Mike told me to

use winchester super x high velocity not the hollowpoints. They are less than $2 per 50 rounds. It is a silver box. Mine runs great but it gave me fits before I got the right ammo. Now it only has a few stoppages every great once in a while about like you would expect a .22 kit to work. Keep it clean and keep an extra extractor. :heavy

DON'T and I mean DON'T use wd-40. About 5-6 years ago they changed the recipe and now it actually CAUSES oxidation. Get SLIP2000 or something similar.
